Basically, once it is unpackaged you will see a red button on the back. Push it once and it will light up. When it blinks, that means it is setting up to sense motion. Once the light I solid, that means it is ready. Oh, and before you do any of this you need to adjust the lens (opposite side of the button). It goes up and down.
