The unit arrived and was easy to get it running by plugging in the watch mount/microphone into the back of the unit and plugging in the mains adapter which was for the UK and not a 2-pin job that sometimes arrives. A manual is included which at least describes basic use but it is worth looking on the internet for details about what the unit measures. In particular, it appears setting lift angle to the correct value for your watch movement is important. You can find this setting for different watch movements online.I have 2 mechanical watches, one being some years older and wanted to get an idea when they might need a service. And I am thinking about learning how to repair watches - something that has fascinated me for years. So I tried measuring the timing accuracy of my 2 mechanical watches.The unit is easy to use and showed my new watch is keeping very good time as expected. But with my older watch, the unit did not work so well - I suspect lack of experience on my part and the fact that the older watch seems to confuse the unit as it reported the watch had -180s/day accuracy which I proved to myself was wrong as it was gaining about 10s/day. So clearly, it needs a little experimentation to set up the unit.I recommend this unit for anyone who collects mechanical watch or has an interest in repairing them.
