Fits Great
This strainer replaces a $31.00 one that we paid when we had a new sink installed. It lasted 9 months. Like this much better.

Annoying problem solved for less than $5
From the time I left my parents' home - I'd hate to tell you how many years ago THAT was - until four years ago, in every place I lived I fought the same endless, maddening, water-wasting battle to keep a kitchen sinkful of water from leaking down the drain while the pain-in-the-backside sink stopper utterly failed to do its job. I decided that sink stoppers were just part of that mysterious group of consumer products that somehow never really work right. When I finally became a homeowner, the stopper in the kitchen sink didn't work right either, but I accepted it as inevitable. When it finally broke, I got a new "universal" stopper from the grocery store (this was BA: Before Amazon). The new one was just as bad. It would usually hold water long enough for me to do a sinkful of dishes, but if I tried to let the dishes soak in hot water before I washed them, I'd return to find the water long gone.Back in 2011, this poor tool broke too, and I looked for a new sink stopper online. I ordered this one with the same kind of desperate hope I'd have felt if I'd been ordering a product that promised to make my feet smaller. When it got here I sneered at it, certain it would fail me like all the rest. Just to get this settled right away, I inserted the new stopper in the sink and left the dishes to soak overnight.Next morning, ALL THE WATER was still in the sink. In the days to come, as the stopper continued to do what it was supposed to do, I realized that one of life's small but truly frustrating problems had been conquered for good. The post that fits down into the slot in the sink drain is made of plastic, as other reviews have mentioned. The other night I was washing a big stock pot in the sink, and when it didn't sit level in the sink I pushed down on it, hard. The strainer happened to have fallen into the drain upside down, and the plastic post was sticking up under the pot; when I pushed the pot down on it, it broke off. So yeah, it would be better if the post were metal. But four trouble-free years from a consumer product is a pretty good run nowadays, and considering how much trouble it's saved me, and how cheap it is to replace, I'm okay with that.Other reviewers have pointed out that this sink strainer doesn't really strain, and that's true for mine. When the post is seated in the drain slot, it's all the way down and blocks all the water from leaving the sink. When you turn it the other way, it sits up higher so water can strain through, but then the top circumference of the strainer is smaller than the circumference of the drain hole, so things get down between the strainer and the sides of the drain. I don't usually pare fruit and veg skins into the sink, so this hasn't been a frequent problem for me. Looking at my sink drain, I can't see how any stopper that worked could also function as a strainer in my sink.

Worked great on my non-standard sink.
3ยฝ inches is the standard diameter of sink drain openings. Mine is 3ยผ inches. This fit great.

Exactly what I wanted, exactly what I got!
While you might cringe at paying this much for a $2 item, consider this: I live in NYC, and have access to a huge number of national and regional chains, as well as hundreds of mom-n-pop plumbing stores. Even here, finding a stationary gasket strainer with the slotted stem "key" and this particular basket curve was turning up nothing? Lots of aftermarket strainers out there, as I'm sure you've all discovered! So yes while the price is high, I didn't give it too much thought - I needed it, I got it, and this review took longer to type up than my decision to purchase it.It fits and functions perfectly. -1 for not being a metal stem and/or clearly stating this. eg. "It features a stationary plastic post". The original had a steel stem, I do not find it unrealistic that a replacement unit should as well. Thanks to DPL for carrying this.

It fits so well in most sink drainage systems and plays a great part in preventing the pipes from getting clogged
Of all the sink basket strainers that Iโve used, this is one of my favorites. It features a chrome finish that makes it elegant and stylish to be used in modern households. This sink strainer has a body made of stainless steel with a metal post and a rubber stopper. It fits so well in most sink drainage systems and plays a great part in preventing the pipes from getting clogged. One of the most notable features of this product is its long-lasting construction. I have noticed that it is also easy to clean and stays clean for longer.Key FeaturesItโs strong and durableComes in the carded packageStainless steel bodyShiny and elegant lookAllows free flow of liquid

Rubber piece not solid.
I really wanted one where the rubber piece was solid so it couldn't build up gunk in it. This isn't it. It fits my sink drain and seals nicely, but I will be watching it closely for food etc. getting under the rubber stopper piece.

Simple and effective
I used to have problems with my sink drain leaking that made it difficult to soak dishes. Also the pieces of the last couple drain stoppers I used would just fall apart. This is a really simple very effective drain stopper. Taking away 1 star because while the basket and screw is stainless steel the bolt on top is heavy duty plastic. (which may more easily strip over time). However it is still a pretty sturdy product I have been using for months with satisfaction.

Good Sink Basket
This works well, It is not quite as sturdy as the one that came with the sink, but is doing the job well.

kitchen sink strainer and plug
works adequately but product received does not match their photo ...I had ordered two different products from two different companies just as a verification and this product matches the design of the other companies product which is slotted holes ....this product was suppose to have round holes . It fits well and does the job nicely so I am at a quandary as to how I should rate this ? the other company offering the slotted holes was less costly ...it will be quite a disappointment if these turn out to be a direct and total match

Good price, good product
Seems good solid construction. Fits my sink drains well. Not too sure about cleaning as the distance between the rubber gasket and metal drain is tight, I don't believe it will be easy to clean and I will probably have to soak it to clean and sanitize it.
