We ordered the size we thought would fit, but they ran small, so we then ordered the next size up and they run too large!! This company needs more consistent sizing!!! So we still don't have hiking pants. :(

I am a petite woman and the 11-12 size fits great! Love that they convert into shorts!

I was pleasantly surprised by these pants. They fit my daughter well and for the most part the zipper on the convertible short unzips easily. They have one of those built in elastic waist with button holes for making the waist smaller, which is a must for my girl who has no waist, lol. Construction is adequate and functional, but not a last forever kind. These should have is through the 2 years I expect them to fit my daughter, but be I expect by the end they will be fraying, if current loose strings are an indication. If I was purchasing these for an adult, I would want better quality, but for a youth pant these are great. I was pleased with the price point.I searched and this was the best quality pant I found for this price point.

I was very skeptical about this purchase. I have two very picky little girls who I struggle to find clothes for even in the store. But, we needed hiking pant for our big vacation to Yellowstone by tomorrow so I took a gamble and order the pants the night before last from Amazon. They love them! They put the pants on, which fit perfectly on both girls, and initially frowned because they looked "boyish". Then they discovered the leg zippers and fell IN LOVE. Their imaginations spilled over into hikes across rivers where removable pant legs would become a hidden secret power. I highly recommend these pants. PS: I bought size 9-10 for my 8 year old (average athletic build) and a size 11-12 for my 10 year old (again average athletic build). The pants also have an adjustable elastic waistband which we did have to use.

The size was right, but she complained about the feel as soon as she had them on. I chalked that up to her never wearing pants in general. By mile 2 of the trail she was complaining that they hurt, and by the time we were done at mile 3 she had some mild chafing and begged to take them off immediately. Nothing extremely bad, but she will not wear them again.It's a shame, they are really cute and she loved the pockets and the convertability. If you aren't planning on actually, you know, hiking in these they have a lot going for them.

These hiking pants are so wonderful! My granddaughter and I do a yearly hiking adventure and she LOVES these "shants". The zip feature is great as is the fit. The material is perfect for travelling. It washes and drys quickly and the look is classy. the elastic waist is perfect for an extra slim girl. This is our 2nd size, one up from last year! And we will buy again when ready for the next size up. We bought a medium for a slim 12 year old, 57 inches tall.

Fit my son well. These work great for BSA scout hiking. The zip off legs seem sturdy and can handle my son taking them off with force. I would recommend.

Seem like great pants, but the material is less stretchy than Columbia or north face.

Very disappointed with trouser sizing- shame as they would have been great for what they were needed for. Ordered the size 9-10 years for my son ( average size 9 year old) they did not fit - he could not pull them up or fasten them. No probs I thought I’ll return these and order next up size 11-12 years - they came ( nice and quickly) however longer in the leg but the waist is exactly the same size as as the 9-10 years ( and I did double check the label incase I had reordered the same size) very disappointing now I have to return two items! Not impressed will not try a third time

Had to send back the first pair of these and the second pair took a few weeks to arrive. I ended up with 12-13 sizing for a tall 9 year old. Fabric is good and light weight, he finds that the top fastening pops frequently with exuberant wear - and he's not fat so they have now gone into a charity bag. Fabric and styling was fine

I bought my 11 year old son a pair, sized at 11 - 12. He's a tiny bit on the small size so they are slightly too long but otherwise they are perfect. They also have waist adjusters which is handy - means they don't need a belt.He loves them. The bottoms zipped off easily to make them into shorts.I'd definitely recommend.

These are brilliant quality. They have been made very well with good quality material. I'm very pleased I got them. The sizing is a little out, they're a bit too big. But still wearable currently. Id get the same again in future

Bought size 13 for our tall 10 year old. Fitted OK around waist but only just long enough in leg. Trousers are OK but buy bigger size if in doubt,
