Takes minimalism to the next level by being too small
Thought the book would be bigger and more pages, quality ok but nothing special. Not impessive enough to display on your coffee table, so fails at being very Japandi.

A good but not great book
Japandi is something of a hot topic in interior design and for publishers, there will be a desire to rush out books to capitalise on the interest. Luckily, this book displays genuine knowledge of, and interest in, the subject matter. The 'meet the makers' section is inspiring and the advice for adding Japandi style to your own home is worth a read. For me the main drawback was use of computer-generated stock images, which are too perfect and detract from the wabi-sabi ethos of the subject matter. The language can also be a bit over-the-top at times, effusing about the nature of Japandi as prioritising simplicity over showiness or elitism while also featuring some very expensive products - without once acknowledging the potential contradiction.
