This is THE sauce. It makes everything taste better: meat, fish, veggies, potatoes. It used to be my family's go-to sauce for artichokes and asparagus when we lived in Europe, and we were delighted to find that it's sold in the US, too!Did you know that it's also the secret for professional chefs? If their homemade bernaise splits, a quick fix is to add a little of this to bind it. My friend was actually taught that in culinary school. In fact, I heard one chef say that he didn't even bother making his own sauce, because the Knorr brand is so much tastier.If you're still reading this review, I seriously admire your dedication to research, but it's a sauce packet, not a marriage proposal. Buy it. Try it. You'll love it.Are you like me and don't always have the ingredients on hand?SUBSTITUTIONS I've tried:- skim milk and butter: tastes the same as original- cream or half-and-half, no butter: tastes the same as original- milk and Earth Balance: not bad; if you haven't tried the original, you wouldn't know; thinner- water and butter: let's face it, the butter is the flavor - this is tasty, too- skim milk, no butter: you've really gotta be committed to the diet here; it's really not good, but neither is the rest of your food these days; general flavor is there- almond or cashew milk and Earth Balance: hard NO; badness happens; darkness closes in- macadamia or oat milk and Earth Balance: you already know what you're getting into here; it's not the original, but it's not terrible; color is off, which freaks out my family- milk and sour cream: it works but not quite the same as original; SC gives a bit of a tang, so if you're prepared for it, it's good, especially since some bernaise sauces are more lemon-juice heavyThank you for taking the time to read my review - I hope it helped you! This is a great accompaniment for steaks. I have used it for years. Sautee some shallots with it. Be aware, however, that the product listing here is for TWENTY-FOUR packets of Knorr Bearnaise sauce. I placed an order and I received a SINGLE packet. I contacted Amazon via the "Return" option and accepted the "Replacement" option. (A return of the single packet was not required.) A few days later, I received a SINGLE packet. D'oh! After contacting Amazon, I received an expeditious refund. Since another reviewer has indicated this same problem, I would be reluctant to order the 24-pack from Amazon. Upshot is that I got two free packets of wonderful Knorr Bearnaise sauce. Try it with bison filets!!!

They have changed the taste of they bernaise sauce. There were also many bad reviews. What did knoor do? Take them down?

This is simply hollandaise sauce, not bearnaise sauce. At some point in the last few years Knorr decided it was more cost effective to simply re-use their hollandaise sauce and label it bearnaise. There is no tarragon in this sauce, which is kidn of, you know, important for a bearnaise sauce.

I've been using this Knorr Bearnaise sauce mix for years, but recently my local grocery story stopped carrying it. I was thrilled to find it here on Amazon, and at a really good price. It's great having these on hand for a quick sauce that works well with just about anything.Actually, my favorite way to use this is with grilled salmon. I play around with the sauce a bit -- I use less butter and 1% milk, plus I add ground pepper, tarragon, and lemon juice. The result is fabulous with a good piece of salmon. It's one of our favorite easy-fix meals.I've also used this with tuna, filet mignon, and chicken breasts. It's easy to adapt the flavors to whatever you're cooking, making the sauce your own.So, great sauce, great price, and super convenient when it's delivered right to your door! Highly recommended.
