ADAPTIL Dog Calming Pheromone, 30 Day Refill - 1 Pack

I started using the Adaptil Calm Home Diffusers about 3 months ago primarily for my pit bull who is now 7 years old. He began having what I can only describe as anxiety attacks which were becoming more and more frequent several months ago. This is a dog who has always been easy going, friendly, calm and well adjusted.He would start shaking, (like fine tremors), panting, would follow me from room to room. If I sat down, he would want to sit on top of me. There was no consoling him, not his favorite treats or toys or rubbing him down, nothing. There were no storms and nothing unusual was going on. These episodes would last 15-30 minutes. This change in this sweet calm dog alarmed me so I called my vet and she suggested Adaptil products.So I decided to try the diffuser and the collars. I got my first diffusers (2) at a big name pet store who of course charges double the price of Amazon. After that costly purchase, I looked up to see if I could get the diffuser and collars here. Then I saw where they can be delivered montly for HALF the price of the pet stores, which is awesome since they need to be changed once a month. And Amazon delivers them on time too!!!All I know is that Adaptil works. He is back to being his normal calm, well adjusted self. My dog has only one anxiety spell since I started using this product and that is probably bec he has been inside more than usual bec of the nasty weather.Of course, every dog is different, every situation with a different dog is different, there are so many variables etc. I had doubts after I read the very mixed reviews but I had to try and to my relief it worked for him and I am thrilled.

I have four dogs and two of the females don't get along well. I used to have a lot of daily scuffles between them where they would fight. I plug these in around their area and they are much better behaved. I still ocassionally see them getting nasty with each other but usually it is right at the end of the month when the bottle needs to be replaced. I think it does a great job calming everyone down. I get a replacement every 30 days and have been using it for about a year.

I’m honestly not sure if this helped with our dog or not she was peeing in the house and seemed really anxious when we left the house we ended up having to just move her to a different side of the house when we were gone and I put it in that area and she seemed calm, but I wasn’t sure if that was just because she was only in one area at the house We use this in conjunction with the collar.

I bought this with very little hope that it would actually do anything, but I was so wrong! My dog had been peeing in the house pretty regularly for quite a long time. There’s nothing medically wrong with her. I tried re-crating her which worked for a little while, then she was back to peeing again. To make matters worse, she wouldn’t pee on pee pads until I found some washable ones that felt more like cloth. I plugged this in, and she stopped peeing in the horse!! I just ordered my 3rd refill. It m’s been several months. I can’t believe how effectively this product has worked for my dog! If you’re on the fence, I’d advise you to give it a try.

Still cant decide if this works well for my dog or not and calms her down while I am gone (working on crate training). I cant smell it at all and this is the perfect thing for a monthly subscription. I've been getting it monthly for the past six months but the price jumped a ton recently so I'm going to pause and see how well this actually worked and if it's worth the money to keep buying them.

I confess that I was pretty skeptical about this Adaptil thing. I understand the concept of pheromones, but I did not really believe it would make that much of a difference. But since all trainers and vets recommended using it, I bought this one and the spray one. Amazingly, it does work. Not only that, but my dog can't nap during the day in his crate without this. It's very expensive, though. I understand it has a reputation enough to raise its prices, but still, I am disappointed with how expensive this is. But... I pay because it's worth it. My super-fearful-energetic-puppy-dog needs to calm down and sleep.

I bought the Adaptil starter kit over a month ago for my new 3 month old morkie puppy. He had separation anxiety whenever I left him alone then his anxiety improved after about 1-2 weeks. I wasn't sure if it was because of my training where I would leave the room then came back like five million times for a week, his other behavioral aids, or the Adaptil diffuser... Well, a little over a week ago I unplugged the diffuser because I noticed it was running low. I honestly had no plans on getting a refill because I didn't think it made a difference. But about 2-3 days after I unplugged the diffuser, I noticed my puppy's separation anxiety coincidentally got worse. Instead of just crying it out for a few minutes then fall asleep like usual, he acted a FOOL for over an hour and he even escaped his play pen! He continued to do this for the next couple days until I finally got the refill. I plugged it back in and the next day when I was leaving for work he cried it out and fell asleep after 10 minutes.So, this alone isn't magic or a cure to anything. But it does help reduce separation anxiety based on my experience with my puppy. As of now, I am using the Adaptil diffuser, Snuggle Puppy behavioral aid toy, Zesty Paws Calming Bites, and the $5 Dog Monitor iPhone/iPad app so I can see what he's doing and talk to him while I'm out. I believe all of these four things combined with training has cured his separation anxiety almost completely. I can now leave him at home for 8 hours while I go to work and he will sleep almost the entire time.
