Megazone 23 Proto-Garland 1/15 Scale Figure

This is a really, really, really cool toy. It looks cool. It displays cool. The concept is totally cool.It also breaks like crazy.The hips break. The shoulders break. The waist/torso breaks. The fingers break. The handlebars break. I suspect the reason it is getting so expensive is that finding one in good condition is so difficult.Sure, all toys break if you treat them roughly. This thing breaks just trying to hold it up.I am not kidding.In addition to transformation instructions, they should also include instructions on where to provide support when you pick it up off the shelf, because the shoulders and hips can and will break when it is picked up. The entire thing is made of a plastic that seems unable to support itself when it is moved without extreme care. I have worked with plenty of toys that are fragile but this one absolutely takes the cake. I have never seen anything that breaks as easily as this thing does.It is a very cool. It looks amazing and the magnets are cool. Just be very careful with it because its frustrating to spend a few hundred bucks on something you can't really interact without fear of something falling off.

The Proto-Garland by Yamato is no longer being produced last I had heard. But if you do find one, I suggest this variant over the original. For starters if I remember correctly the hing parts connecting the shoulders to the torso are improved, however I do urge caution as they can break just the same as the Part 1 proto-garland. Also be very careful as the joint that connects the front end to the main body will stress and wear out over time due to a few transformations, that's what really did mine in and seeing how there are no replacement parts during that time I had to throw it away. It did however last about 5 years before that happened since I usually kept it in bike mode. Most of the figure is held together with "powerful" magnets on the sides of the back to connect the shoulders, and on the front of the torso for vehicle mode. Unlike the Part 1 Proto-Garland this variant includes a special clip to help keep stability during vehicle mode instead of flopping around in place.Colors are darker and richer replicating nearly perfectly all the fine details you've seen in Megazone 23 II including a very nicely sculpted figure of Shogo.I suggest though finding this at a better price than on Amazon though, I believe the original retail price for this figure was around the 125 range...so while it hasn't gone up drastically compared to Yamato's Macross products, this is a rather expensive piece to have.

とにかく、大好きなプロトガーランドの立体物で、しかも完全変形という超絶ホビー！　発売当時のガーランドも購入していたので、二機種並べられるのが嬉しい！　ガーランドで慣れていたのと個人的にオモチャは大切に扱うので、変形はスムーズでした。パーツの破損もないし、何よりマグネットなどのロック機構がよく練られていて、スケールとともに、とても満足しています。　唯一の難点は、中古とはいえ隅々までクリーニングが行き届いていなかった事でしょうか。マニューバ・クラフトで飾れていたらしい隅っこやタイヤに、細かい埃が残ってました。ウェットティッシュでクリーニングしたらピカピカになったので良かったですが。　なんであれ、トータルとして大満足でした。買ってよかった！

中古で15000円以下だったので、こりゃダメかなと思いきや、損傷や劣化が見当たらず、当たりです。今プラスチックケースに入れてます。やはり一作目のガーランドも良かったけど、やはり二作目のガーランドの方が良いですね。良い商品を、ありがとうございます。

中古で購入。製品本体を取り出したら右足の接続部分が折れていた。これを問題なしで売っているのは悪質だ。

勿論ガーランドを持っていますが、パート２が大好きなのでプロトガーランドが本命ですメガゾーン２３パート２の画に合わせて、よりメカニカルなデザインになっていますパート１版のガーランドは肩の関節が破損しやすかったので、改善している事を願いたいですねフロントタイヤの変形が独自の解釈で論議を呼びましたが、プロトガーランドの試作モデル写真を見る限り、変わっていないようです　でも左人差し指が普通になったのは良かったです（何故かガーランドはピンっと立ってた）フロントカウルのデザイン上、変形後の型合わせは無理だと言われ続けてましたが、見事にデザインと型合わせを両立顔の両サイドにある耳部センサーが出っ張っているので、変形の処理をどうしているか楽しみです特筆すべき点は、クラフト形態時のエアーブレーキの稼動だけではなく、脚部の内部も再現、可動式バックミラーの再現、スクリーン内のモニターの再現等々付属品もハーガン用ライフルとシールドが付いてくるので、パート１版ガーランドを持っている方は、ＢＤとの最終決戦仕様を再現できますコレだけの仕様でパート１版ガーランドより１０００円高で抑えてくれたのはユーザーとして嬉しい限りです是非、今後ハーガン、ＧＲ−２ガーランドも作ってメガゾーン２３シリーズを充実させて欲しいものです
