CISSP For Dummies

OK for a high level overview
I used this book for a preview of each CISSP domain, before diving in deep with Shon Harris' book. Some people claim this is all they needed for the exam, but it wouldn't have been enough for me. It is pretty well written, but I don't think it has enough breadth or depth to be the sole source of material for most people. The chapter questions were not challenging enough to be really helpful.

Used this as my first book read on the path to CISSP certification
Used this as my first book read on the path to CISSP certification. The informal nature was much needed and a great way to learn all the topics before diving into the "encyclopedia" commonly used as CISSP reference. This should be part of a plan, not your only plan. AM docking it a star as the practice questions are too simplistic. And yes, I passed.

Good Book
This is a good book that covers all the domains. I would recommend this book along with others. I don't recommend anyone try to use only one book. Different writing style and presentation of the material will help the reader understand the concepts.

Good purchase
Must be a bit more knowledgeable in the field, but a good purchase for review. Honestly wish they had more test questions in the book. The questions seems a bit generic. But that's the only negative thing I have to say for the book.

Great book. Unlike some "Dummies" books which - IMHO - appear to be written by dummies for people who only want to know enough to be dangerous, this one is the real thing. Rich, accessible, relevant content. A great resource for the CISSP exam. Just make sure it's not your _only_ one.

Its a Dummies book. What can you say.
I haven't really looked into the book, but hey, its a Dummies book. Its got to be good for what it is. I mean that as a complement. Most Dummies series books are really great for getting good quick information.

Good starter, not for serious test taker
This book, as compared to the All In One series, misses many important pieces of fundamental concepts. This is good if you are an InfoSec wannabee who has a bit of time to read at night. But if you are studying seriously for the CISSP exam, don't buy this one. Get it from ISC2 or the All In One series. Good luck!

CISSP for Dummies good as a refresher for CISSP exam
Provides a basic overview of the CISSP domains with 250 practice questions. Not sure if the material "covers" enough detail to adequately prepare for the CISSP exam. However, the document can be used as a good preperation tool providing good review material for the exam. Suggest using the CISSP fo Dummies in conjuncution with other materials as a study guide for the exam.

Great choice! Make sure you buy the latest version!
Helped me pass. However the course had now changed so you will need an updated version. Covers all the basics in an easy to read manner. The exam questions are much harder though.

But a good read
You may have to use the internet to watch video explanations of many of the terms used. But a good read

Highly recommended for CISSP exam
This is a excellent read. Covers the 10 areas clearly and gives examples to practice too at the end of each chapter. After 2 months of reading you should be ready to attempt the CISSP exam. Good luck out there for those trying to sit this exam.
