OneidaColonial Boston 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4

Good quality and excellent price. Delivery was as promised.

This is NOT the same pattern as the original Colonial Boston. That set pictured in the ad for the product shows the original design, which matches my set, but did not match the set sent. The set that I received had an extra ridge/indentation detail along the edges of the handle. I uploaded a picture showing the an original fork and knife next to the set I received. And as other's have mentioned, this set is magnetic, whereas I verified my original set is not, except for the knife blade. In addition, in the set I received, one piece had noticeable rust spots starting. In case it helps anyone, the set I received was in a dark gray box, green trim, Colonial Boston, 2750020N, UPC 0-78737-07555-4, made in Vietnam. I am returning to Amazon.

The pattern of these is similar, but will not fool anyone at first glance to whether it is the same pattern of the Colonial Boston set we purchased many years ago. I did get some additional matching teaspoons a few years ago, and these did match, so this deceptively named "Colonial Boston" setting style is relatively new. However, if you are not trying to match an old set, this setting is okay (but not as well made as the older stuff we have. The butter knives feel a bit more flimsy.).

I have a set from about 10 years ago that have a matte finish. The design details have changed a bit and overall they look a little cheaper than my old set. These have a shiny polished finish and I like the matte better. They are fine but not exactly what I though.One star off because of the polished finish and design changes. I ordered colonial Boston because I expected them to match my old set.

Cause I purchased this set to match the set I was given for my wedding 20 years ago. They match beautifully and I’m very happy with them. The knives are slightly different make now not quite as thick and all one piece instead of two piece this is put together I think the one piece is actually a sturdier design. And they are similar enough to not be noticeable except by close comparison.
