Although I am a very competent tradesman, I spent 20 years thinking that I just couldn't solder well. I had a full brand name soldering kit. Five years ago I tried a $4 soldering iron with no temperature control mechanism - just plug and go. I found out I could solder well. Now, moving up to this fully function soldering kit with great temperature control and very fast temp change, I found that my soldering skills were only hampered by my tools. This is a very good tool that can help you achieve good, solid solder connections. I would buy this kit again - as a matter of fact, I'm considering adding another one to a remote shop. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I was having a terrible time working on a vintage EB3 because the solder on its pots -especially on the braided grounding wrap of some wires, which are total heat sinks- would not melt under my soldering pencils. (I did follow the advice to melt some fresh solder into that 50-year old silver solder to help.) This pencil quickly heats to a significantly higher, and dial-controlled, temperature. That old probably high temp solder still resists, but I was able to do the work. The tiny sponge and small coil mesh thingy for tip cleaning are undersized and I use a larger mesh wire holder, but the base station is great. No more waiting minutes for a 25 watt pencil to heat up! I have done many electric bass component replacements with ease.

This is a nice little station for soldering. The gun works well, temperature control is great with a led display so you know where you're at temp wise, everything is laid out well to get the job done! I use it a lot and it works great!

this product gets the job done its not the hottest solder station and the tips do burn out quite fasthow ever it is still for its price really good and i would recommend for learning or hobbyistsolid product

So far so good, after one week it is heating pretty good within few seconds, there are some issues with melting the 60/40 solder, you have to heat at the solder tip pre load the iron tip with solder, and then proceed filling the solder point make sure you use flux; I am using it for stained glass, there are at times when the solder need to be heated for 15 seconds but once it start flowing keep the solder touching the tip of the iron and let it flow thru the copper foil, it is easier to smooth it out in a second pass using the hot iron only. Not sure about quality only time will tell. The cheap solder tips does not melt the solder properly, I replaced with Hakko T18 tips and now is working as expected.

Didn't want to drop the dough on a new Weller. Researched soldering stations for a week before buying this one. Works well. Decent price.

This kit met all of my soldering needs. The adjustable temperature dial was spot on. I liked that you had the option to choose Celsius/Fahrenheit. The extra tips were helpful when I needed to solder different types of projects. It heated up quickly. The automatic 10 minute shut off is very helpful when I was interrupted to take phone calls or when dealing with family matters.The kit comes with a roll of solder on a spindle making it very easy to use. The soldering iron holder is very convenient and holds perfectly. I like having a sponge and tip cleaner conveniently located. This is a great product.

This has made repairs so much easier. I love the fact that it is an all in one unit, I am not knocking stuff over with one hand while trying to work with the other. The cord is flexible and long enough for work within a reasonable area. I have been using it now for over a year and have absolutely no complaints, one of my best buys!
