I've worn this type of hat for many years but had to stop because the quality of the ones I found had seriously declined; they were either of poor construction or a mix of cotton and a plastic cloth such as polyester which I hate.I stumbled across this hat and bought one on spec and I got lucky, it's perfect. 100% cotton and a good fit. (I am not a fan of universal sizes but I got lucky again with this "L/XL".). The wide brim works well. I have spent the past two days in the hot sun working and sweating and the hat did well.Being cotton the material will shrink a bit when washed but if one puts the hat on when the cloth is still damp it will stretch as it dries. If one is unfamiliar with this style of hat the brim can get a bit floppy but it is the nature of the beast. If you're not going to be working and sweating, the use of spray starch and an iron will stiffen the brim.

This hat has a good fit and holds its shape when folded. It’s made from high quality material that’s easily washed in the washing machine. I bought it for protection from the sun and it provides great coverage. Also, it is definitely worth the price!!

The hat provides sufficient sun protection and looks cute. The fabric is lightweight and soft. I hang it around my neck indoors. I am glad that I ordered a few different sizes and returned those didn't fit since there were some sizing inconsistencies!

I like the looks of the hat. I was looking for a colored hat that snaps on the sides. The size was a bit large for me. The material is 200% cotton so I washed it in hot water & dried it on High. It fits my head very well now.

This is a very good hat because it's lightweight and keeps the sun out of my eyes. The string is good for when it is windy.

With some good sunglasses, this is a cozy little shrooming hat.

The brim is more lightly constructed than one might expect from the marketing photos. It will not hold its shape.
