Convenience Concepts SoHo Bookcase, Weathered Gray / Glass

Use Case:I was looking for a small bookcase for my bedroom that is not very large but already has large pieces of furniture in that light oak / weathered white color. I wanted a bookcase that I could put in one corner by a window but the catch is that the piece should not add any "bulk" to the room. I didn't now exactly what that even meant but in my head I figured when I was searching I'd know it when I'd see it. Given that I was looking for something small, and I have carpet in my room, I was weary about some other products because I suspected because of them being light in weight and size they may rock a bit being on carpet.ShippingItem was packaged extremely well in box that weighed about 45lbs - easy enough for me to bring upstairs from front door. Packaged very well, snug with great filling to protect. Pieces did not have any scratches or damage at all. Shipping was fast as well - 3 days I received during holiday season.Assembly:Assembly was very easy. I'm not an expert in putting things together but I do try. I learned to not just jump right in but to lay pieces out and get familiar with them before moving forward. This served me well! Few pieces of advice when putting together -- Peel off the parts labels (numbers/letters) before assembling that piece because it will show through the glass. Also, for the glass sides, pay attention to the holes vs. the assembly pictures - I accidentally had to redo one glass side because I had it upside down and didn't notice until it came to installing the shelves. It was a simple fix but just pay close attention to the pictures and hole alignment of the glass pieces. I was able to put this fully together in 35 minutes myself with a power screw driver and a few mistakes (the glass piece fix and the stickers).Cons:Only con I have for this is, during assembly, the holes for some of the shelves are too large to hold the screw anchors and I had a heck of a time holding them in while I screwed in the screws on the side into them. It took me using all body parts to hold it all together for those few seconds. Not a huge issue but annoying because I had to retry several times.Final Product:I am in LOVE with this piece and really wish I had somewhere in my house I could buy and put the other pieces. The bookshelves are sturdy and deep enough to have fairly large books. I absolutely LOVE how this piece doesn't add visual bulk to the room because of the glass airiness. I also love how my beautiful books are on display through the glass - I didn't even think of that bonus.

The media could not be loaded. It's a bit bigger than what I was expecting, but the material seems durable and the glass is strong.It looks perfect alongside my tv stand and it adds a nice touch to the corner, holding my PS5 for now.

Hefty and well made. Looks great. Pretty straightforward to assemble (about 45 minutes taking my time). Given its weight, was worried about shipping but luckily no damage at all.

I really like the look of this bookcase. Considering how inexpensive it is I am very pleased with the quality. I had a few missing pieces for assembly so I contacted the company via the email address in the assembly directions & they got back to me in a couple of hours. I was in shock how fast they responded & they had shipped out the parts the next day. Great customer service! Overall I have been completely satisfied with the several pieces I have purchased from them. They have a variety of styles to fit many different tastes. I have since recommended them to friends & family.

Ordered this bookcase to store a few books I couldn’t part with as well as some of the puzzles I ordered but haven’t gotten around to yet. (Winter is coming.) The size is perfect for my small space and while it feels substantial it doesn’t overpower the space. Great buy!

Lovely book case. Although conceptually, its easy to put together, in practice, some of the bolts dont want to mate with some of the screws. I found that testing their compatibility before dropping a bolt into a hole makes for less frustration. Sometimes its just a matter of turning the bolt around, at other times you have to just select a different bolt altogether. Luckily they all found a partner, because you get no extras. I had much less trouble with compatibility on the second book case so it just may depend on the set of hardware you happen to get. The reason for four stars: the book case is, as others say, smaller than one would imagine. The problem is that you can only use it for short books. Any books that are taller have to be laid on their side. I think its wonderful for cd’s and videos...if you still use those...but it only works for short books, and that was the only disappointment, all my music books are taller, as are some of my cook books. But its a beautiful book case. You will love it. Just remember it isnt suitable for taller books, only books under maybe 10 inches. Others slightly taller can fit if you tilt them, but it doesnt look as nice as if they were straight, and then too much taller and they must be laid on their sides and stacked like that. If they ever make a bigger one than this, i would be all over it.

Great bookcase that matches pretty closely my modern dark grey and glass top desk. This was the best one I could find and couldn’t be happier! I bought it used (not in original packaging) and it was missing all the screws and such to put it together. But luckily I just gave their support line a quick call and within 10 minutes i had the tools on their way free of charge and they arrived within a few days. I stacked the thing with books and it fit everything except for a giant physics textbook. I also put my hefty computer on top of, I was a little worried since the top part seemed quite hollow and light, but so far my computer and all my books are holding up quite well. And that’s with a good size crack in the top (like I said, it was used and it was of course at a cheaper price because of the crack).
