Tastes best room temperatue
I randomly ended up drinking some rootbeer flavored stevia drops in water and thought it tasted like licorice tea, which caused me to order this bulk licorice tea because it's cheaper than those little bottles of stevia per serving and I like to save money.Once I got this tea, I decided to try brewing it both with boiling water and with room temperature water. This was partly because it has rooibos in it, which I wasn't expecting and I thought might overpower the licorice a bit. It took longer for the room temp water tea to get up to strength, but even after about an hour of sitting there, it already had a nice flavor, and letting it sit overnight it was very delicous and had a cleaner flavor than the hot water version.I think I was right about the rooibos, if you really like the flavor of licorice then don't heat the water for this tea. Of course, if you are really insistent that your tea not be room temperature, I guess you could then heat it after it's brewed, but if you still want the best licorice flavor, I would brew it cold, then remove the tea detritus, then heat the resulting water.I tried putting this tea over ice and the result really lacked flavor.

Great quality and accepts SNAP food "stamps"
I have been struggling financially but didn't want to give up drinking good tea. I found out that Amazon takes SNAP benefits and you can purchase drinks with it. I wanted to spend less overall so I wanted an organic buly brand and it's a bonus it's US grown! I like to let the green leaves flower for and open up for 20 minutes to have a deeper flavor and less bitterness than steeping with boiling water. Althouth once it has bloomed the color is a greenish brown but the flavor is more exceptional! The only issue is I can get nausea drinking on an empty stomach so I have a cup once I've had a few bites of something like toast or cheese sticks.

I love this!
It has great flavor, I believe I only tried a sample of Earl Gray before from another brand. I do enjoy this and have bought it two or three times now! I really love that the bag can be resealed, but I still put it in my air tight glass container to make it easier to scoop out, and refill when needed.

Where's the vanilla?
We were looking for a French vanilla, Vanilla creme, or something similar to replace our bag tea we used to get, which a company stopped producing. This is a great flavored tea but we did not detect any Vanilla flavor. (I made it double strength because we were adding heavy cream to it, which would dilute the flavor.) The packaging is great, the resealable bag seals really tight. The quality of the leaves and the flavor it has is excellent, but no vanilla flavor, the tea name is misleading. And that is the reason I could not give it a 5 star rating which as a tea it deserves.

Will buy again and again
Absolutely love this tea. Can drink it alone or it is great for creating your own blends. So far we’ve added cinnamon sticks cut up - loved it - Vanilla cinnamon- 4 stars. Vanilla apricot with cut up dried apricots - 4 stars. Just picked up some dried blueberries for our next experiment. Perfect hot or cold. Highly recommend.

Decaf vanilla is delicious.
I purchased the decaf French vanilla because I was going through a fair amount of decaf black tea when I was postpartum. (I wasn't concerned about drinking caffeine for the baby, but I wanted to be able to sleep whenever I got tired.) It's delicious. I did see some stems and such, but I'm not eating the tea, so I don't know why people feel so concerned about that. Just strain it out with everything else.

Best Value Decaf
I've looked everywhere and cannot find a better decaf black tea $/lb. period. Makes excellent base for chai.

Feces, larvae and plastic, oh my!
Bought this because it sounded tasty and because of the cheap price. Bag has a really nice fruity odour to it as well. However after a couple glasses of tea, I ended up throwing it all in the garbage.Upon inspection of the bag, I found what looked like rabbit feces (little pellets), moth larvae (lots of them!) and pieces of green plastic. So gross. But hey it at least smelled good, right?I won't be buying from this brand again. What a waste of money.

The new price???
I have purchased this tea at least 3 times according to Amazon and I love it! The tea is excellent and the price was fair. The last time I bought it was a year ago for $20. Now it’s 47? What happened? I’m not going to buy it anymore at this price. ☹️

Bark pieces, not Honeybush leaves
This is not a quality product. When I opened the bag, I noticed that the tea looked like wood chips rather than loose leaves, unlike honeybush teas I've purchased from other tea companies. I've had quality honeybush tea before where I got the leaves of the honeybush only rather than mostly tree bark.I made one cup of tea and noticed that it tasted as it looked: like boiled tree bark. There were no honey-sweet notes and the rich, deep flavor indicative of a good honeybush tea (it should taste like Irish mead.) I would not recommend or serve this tea to anyone.

Regular purchase
I've purchased this 4 times now and had hoped to continue doing so. When I'm using my last bag, I always reorder so to not be without my green tea. The last bag I opened has SO much silt and powder through it. I've been drinking loose gunpowder green tea since 2005 and I've never witnessed this. Perhaps I got a bad batch or something? I make a 6 cup pot with an infuser every morning. The bottom of my pot is full of sludge/silt/powder, which has never been the case. Has anyone else had this happen with this product? I gave it a 3 for freshness because I'm wondering if this powder is due to it having been sitting for a while? However, the expiry is next year.

Beware..price gouge!!
DAVIDSON'S tea has been more than 1/2 the price of Vahdam for a couple years now and really the quality is comparable..especially when Vahdam pumped theirs up to 45$ for 16 oz.So I've been happily ordering from Davidson's every month UNTIL..the price SKYROCKETED to 45$..HOLY COW..thats almost a 200% HIKE!! SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG HERE!! around the same time...AMAZINGLY... VAHDAMS PRICE dropped way down to 29$....SO..I backpeddled and order Vahdam again...It came BUT it was for 12oz. ( 340gm) Not 16oz (500gm)So it's basically even now..They cost about the same PER GM. ( OZ.) I guess it a matter of which YOU PERFER....BUT..wait there are other ALTERNATIVES..LOTS OF THEM..NEW..SMALLER COMPANIES..WITH THE SAME IF NOT BETTER CLAIMS..GOOD QUALITY TEA!!! ORGANICALLY GROWN..ETHICAL WORK ENVIRONMENTS..FAIR PAY PRACTICES..ECT..THESE BIG TEA CONGLOMERATES. are dinosaurs...and we all know what happened to them..There ARE ALTERNATIVES..I HOPE YOUR LISTENING "DAVIDSON"...
