I have this media for some time now. What I can say about it, it does indeed absorb water very well. Sintered glass is a really good idea for bio media. I have this mixed with hydroponic pebbles in my SUNSUN 704B Filter. I have three massive trays filled with this and the clay pebbles and the fourth tray as mechanical.I have no issues with bacteria sorting out my nitrogen cycle during any stage of maintenance or water changes. The one bit of advice I would like to give about this product or any other static biomedia is to make sure you're mechanical filtration is hit first coming into your pump ((Course / Medium / Fine) => and then the biomedia. You certainly do not want this getting hit with debris and block it up.If this happens you can always soak the media in H202! It will clean and clear up the pores.The last thing I have to say about this product, it that is is cheap for what it is!!! It's proper sintered glass, with a high density of pores to absorb water. Other media out there that does the exact same thing can be very expensive.

Great product for bio media, very porous, a lot better than the ceramic or sintered rings which to be honest are almost useless for biological media. So the bio max-Fx is far superior to the old fluval bio max rings.

The only one I'll buy now, the rough / (very) porous nature of these is ideal for fast cycling. They are superior to other (smooth) cheaper brands. Before I started using these, I'd bought some others at a discount store, they worked out about half the price of these but the tank took forever to cycle and the tank lost that cycle on a heavy maintenance session (deep gravel/tank clean with filter isolated /untouched). The majority of beneficial bacteria had clearly built up outside the filter as it was easily lost. After switching to these, never had that problem. Worth the extra money.

Can't really go wrong with this stuff. It's top quality and shines above some of the other cheaper products out there. Very little dust in the bag, so a quick rinse before use is all you need. It is more expensive than the rest, but then it does appear to be better.

Big ceramic rings catch gunk good. Me content with quantity. Filter media give friendly bacteria home. Bacteria happy. Nasty beneficial filter gunk happy. Me happy. Circle of contentness.

Very good bio media and better than seachem matrix media

These really work. They seem to work very quickly to establish the bio colony. Tank cycles very fast and water is clear.

These bio rings are great and will last you a long time. I have had these in usage for 3 years and they have stayed in good shape. I take the bag they are in to rinse maybe once every 2-3 months. These are a great way to keep the tank clean and healthy as a biological filter. An easy recommendation from me 🐠
