Solid router that gives bandwidth usage details
I have owned these WiFi routers for quite a while, it is quite reliable. One feature is that it gives detailed bandwidth usage on a daily/monthly/hourly basis on a per device basis. This is very useful in a recent episode that our cable internet company notified us that we already exceeded the monthly data cap with 10 days to go in the month. We were scratching our head as to Why??? We were not doing anything differently. Reviewing the bandwidth usage data provided by this router showed a work laptop downloading tons of data during the night. We had no idea until we saw the bandwidth usage.

Buy this and don't bother with anything else.
Unlike the consumer equipment, the web interface is informative and responsive. It is easy to set up and works great. Additionally, I scanned the router and found no security issues; my former wireless router had unpatched security issues, and Netgear had no plans to upgrade the firmware. Meanwhile, Peplink still updates the firmware. Since it is enterprise grade, it stays connected for a long time; I have purchased this wireless router for both my home and a non-profit; neither unit has lost the connection, nor have they had to be rebooted. I am surprised this unit is not sold at office supply stores, which only sell the same consumer grade gear you can get anywhere else. I'm also surprised this unit isn't regularly reviewed by the computer magazines since it is a higher quality piece of equipment with greater stability than anything else offered at a consumer-level price point.Neither Amazon nor Peplink indicates this comes with antennas; Amazon suggests the purchase of antennas along with the unit. So imagine my surprise when there were antennas in the box. However, there were no setup instructions in the box -- no paperwork of any kind. I had to use my phone to get to the Peplink website and didn't find any instructions there either. Finally, I went to their community forums and got the instructions. (Use an Ethernet connection initially; browse to 192.168.50.1; UserId: admin; PWD: admin.)

Defective, terrible customer support. Ongoing connection issues for years now, with no plan to fix
I HATED this router. It comes highly recommended, due to the extensive security features. And yes, you can lock it down tight. But, it's been plagued by connection issues for the past few years, and it's getting WORSE, not better. It's getting older now, it's been around for years. I was willing to sacrifice speed for good security, stability, and good customer support, but with this router I got none of the above. I think Peplink has just given up on supporting it. I finally gave up on it, too.For starters, there is some inaccurate and missing info from this page, which I have reported to Amazon. There are 4 LAN ports, not 6. And, it does not mention that there is a 20 device limit (this is buried in their specs). Even my parents probably have more than 20 devices. Now, I don't actually think that is the cause of the constant connection issues, but Peplink tried to use it as an excuse. I proved it was NOT the cause of any of the issues by taking devices offline to get under 20, and the issues persisted. This proved that was a straw man, though it did not lead to a solution.I used this router from 2019 until 2021. At one point, I returned it and got a new one, so it wasn't just a lemon. I have 3 open tickets with them, which they keep putting in "Awaiting Customer Input" status, even though they are NOT waiting on me for anything. I experienced 3 different types of connection problems, NONE of which have been resolved:1) An issue with the 8.x firmware that causes some devices to periodically get disconnected. I can see DHCP constantly assigning the same IPs to the same devices when this happens. They say it's been a known issue since the last 7.x version, 7.1.2, which is from 2018. And it never happened to me on 7.1.2, but I don't want to run firmware that's 3 years out of date. They admitted it probably has security vulnerabilities.2) Even on 7.1.2, I had problems with the wifi just going down. It used to happen only every few months, but it got to where it happened twice a week. It came right back up again when it was rebooted, but it starting happening so often there was a constant risk of it going down at inopportune time. Like in the middle of an important meeting, or when I'm travelling. My best guess is it's been overheating, because it's been getting much worse during the summer, and it does run pretty hot. But, I put a temperature sensor by it to monitor the heat, and it's never been outside normal operating temperatures. I have AC. They never asked any questions about the environment or anything else.3) In version 8.1.2, they identified some serious problems with the 2.4Ghz band. It was so bad, that even reverting back to a previous firmware version did not fix the problems. They claimed the problems were fixed in the latest release of 8.1.2 (8.1.2 build 5011), but I still saw them in there. And, I even beta tested 8.1.3 for them, and it STILL had those same 2.4Ghz problems. And I still had trouble even when I reverted back to good old 7.1.2. So, it's really not fixed at all, although the release notes for both versions claim it's fixed. It was SUPER obvious as soon as I installed both versions. Do they even test at all?? I really don't trust anything from them at this point. They admitted that these are all known issues, and they can replicate the problems. But they never did any troubleshooting, just keep asking for diagnostic reports, and asking me to try new firmware versions that they admit do NOT have a fix for the problems. Apparently, they are hoping it will just magically fix itself. They won't answer questions about when they plan to even try to fix any of it, which leaves me to conclude that they were just stalling, and don't want to to admit they are NOT planning to try to fix it (or that they can't fix it). They just keep making it even worse with these crippling releases.I think they've just given up on supporting this router. Almost every 8.x firmware release has had major problems. I really liked all the features, but what's the point of having a business class router if it's not stable or secure, and if they won't support it?This router is such a disaster, and their customer service has been so terrible, that Amazon agreed to give me a full refund, even though it's way outside the return period. I'm really glad I bought it from Amazon instead of Peplink. In general, I prefer to support smaller businesses, but not this business. My experience with Peplink was terrible. Amazon said they would review this product listing as well. If Amazon had not given me a refund, my credit card probably would have. Peplink offered me an RMA for a new device. They said possibly even for a better device, if it was approved, but I'm done wasting my time with them. I already replaced it once, and it didn't help. They have had years to make this right, and they didn't even try.

GREAT, CAPABLE, FAILOVER ROUTER !!
I bought this to replace an ASUS RT-AC88U Router that has never worked properly and finally would loose its internet connection several times a day. This router seemed too good to be true. It promised to connect to ISPs via a Cellular Hotspot, USB, or Ethernet cable. Also it promised to "Failover" to the next connection when higher level ISP connections went down.It really seemed "too good to be true" for a $200 product. Well,-it works! Some details... I have a 20Mb/s broadband connection, a Hughesnet Satellite connection as backup #1 and a Cellular hotspot as backup #2. The Peplink however only has one WAN RJ45 connector, so at first I thought I was mistaken and only one WAN/ethernet connection was allowed; mercifully it turns out the USB connector works well with an ETHERNET TO USB cable, allowing me to use this port for the Hughesnet Satellite service, AND it fails over beautifully! To make it even more exciting, The Router connects to my hotspot WIRELESSLY, avoiding having to buy a USB modem and use up that precious port. AND it has both 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz wireless AP 802.11 wireless radios too! This baby does it all.The user interface is straightforward to use and there is little mystery there. Just get use to saving your settings as you go along. I have not owned a more capable router. This is the one to buy IMHO!

Versatile Router for Knowledgeable People
This is a feature filled router for a home/ small office setup. It is plugged into the modem your ISP supplies to prove your Internet connection. Use the private network your modem provides as an additional layer of security for your internal network. The three antenna setup gives good coverage on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. There are 4-1Gbe ports for LAN connectivity. Throughput is good for up to 120mb/s.The firmware is updated regularly.ConsThe documentation is geared for networking professionals. If you are intimidated by setups on most consumer wireless routers, you will need help to get through the initial configuration. RouterSecurity.org has a good page on setup that covers most essential items.

A Good Router with Configurable Firewall
A high quality router, with an easy management interface, and an easy to configure firewall. It is easy to upgrade the firmware, or to roll back to a previous version. Antennas, power source, and a short ethernet cable were included in the package. An external on/off switch for the WIFI would be nice to have, but fortunately it is easy to swith the WIFI on/off using the management interface.

Highly and easily configurable to a secure group of settings
Short version:It's highly and easily configurable to a secure group of settings.Long version:Has options to change all settings I wanted to, to the way I want, without too many options I don't want available, and most of those did not default to settings I didn't like.Easy to change settings. The browser interface is easy to use for me as a not-techie (I'm comfortable making the changes I had to, have some basic understanding of which settings I want to change, what I want them to be & why, but IT, IM, networking... are not my areas of expertise.)A nice feature is having two copies of firmware, current and previous, so if an update messes something up, you can always reboot back to the previous working version. This is not a really high speed wifi router (if you need top speed, look elsewhere), but more than fast enough for me.I can't say how it compares on wifi range, as I won't be pushing its limits.

Absolutely the best for caravan
When you require a great option for your caravan WIFI this is very good choice. Its easy to connect to camping WIFI and then share within your own devices.

Doesn't work well with the Bitdefender Box
I use the Bitdefender Box for home security and I find this equipment very good. The only problem is that the Peplink is not really compatible with this security system. It can work, but it really isn't ideal. I called Peplink and their point of view is that they are the best and that it is not up to them to adapt. I believe that they did not understand that a consumer first chooses his security system and that Peplink is secondary. If I had to do it again, I would choose another router. The collaboration I had from Peplink was not up to par.
