The Presidents Visual Encyclopedia

My 7 year old is very interested in learning about the presidents. He was reading about the presidents and their wives, and asked where our current president's wife was. I was annoyed that they left her out. I googled her to show him a picture of her. Why would she be left out of the book? No other first lady was left out of the book.

This book takes a very politically slanted look at our presidents. I will be returning this book. Kids are taught enough liberal theology at school without bringing this kind of cr@p into the house.

I this book, but they forgot to put the 1st lady of USA Melania Trump.:)

If I had know before I bought this book that they left out First Lady TRUMP I would have chosen another book.I will not buy another book written by this author. very disappointed.

First - be careful about buying this used if you want the most recent president(s) to be included! The newest version does include Donald Trump, but as it was updated shortly after his election, there is no information about his accomplishments in office as there is for the other presidents.A synopsis is given about each president, accomplishments, and sometimes challenges they faced. The information is factual and unbiased. There are also sections for presidential homes and vehicles, as well as a map of which state they came from and a section on particularly influential or unique first ladies.I use this book as a homeschool supplement with my k5 and 2nd grader, learning about one President per week during the school year. As they get older, we will continue to use the book to review the presidents or as a general reference book. They have enjoyed this greatly combined with a magnetic puzzle of presidents, which gets one new piece each week.

This book is extremely biased. One issue I am having is Martin Van Buren is labeled a Democrat and the other is the intro about President Trump. If you are going to write a book on history, keep YOUR FEELINGS AND POLITICS OUT OF IT! Just state the facts even if you don't like it.

Love this book! A lot of photos of the Presidents and their First Ladies, detailing facts about each. But that’s not all. Also included are pages devoted to the different amendments, Air Force One, Presidential Powers, Mount Vernon, just about everything you would need to know concerning our presidents. I would definitely buy again, and probably will when they amend it to include the photo and details of our current first lady, which is not included. This would be an excellent government textbook for students on through high school. Much-needed, I would say.
