A little boy gets a bad cold and tries calling for "Mom"...
A little boy gets a bad cold and tries calling for "Mom" but it keeps sounding like "Bob", so it's his dog that comes running (and slobbering)."Bob, not Bob!" he yells. Poor Bob is confused. Poor Louie just wants his mom. This book is adorably written and illustrated, and delightful to read aloud (in a badly congested voice, of course). It's a cute spin on how miserable it is to have a bad cold. It's also a shout-out to how irreplaceable Moms are, especially when we feel lousy. We love this book at our house, and go around saying "Bob, not Bob!" for no reason at all. It's just so fun to say.

First grade class could not stop laughing during read aloud!
Definitely must read this like you have a stuffy nose. My first grade class and I cracked up as we read this book! Too cute and funny. My kids had fun trying to read the book with "a cold accent", too.My class now requests this book whenever anyone even has the slightest cold. They love to say "Ohhh, look I sound like that now, too!"Great read.

Great for 6 year olds
I bought this book to read to the 6 year old girl I nanny, and she loved it. She still laughs about it and quotes the book a few weeks later. It has a really strong, good quality cover too!

Fun read for parents and kids
We love this book so much that it has become our go to gift giving book. We found it at the library and immediately bought it to have at home.

Who knew having a cold could be so funny?!
Such a fun read aloud, often inspiring everyone listening to get in on the fun of talking like you have a cold...esp when you don't actually have a cold. Kids will relate to feeling old enough to not strictly *need* Mom but wanting her more frequently than usual when not feeling 100%. The expressive cartoon-like illustrations are full of energy and make the Louie's growing frustration all the more palpable.
