Q: Does this extend the screens instead of duplication?

It only duplicates the screen! My stepdaughter, for her job, was sent a j5create Adapter [USB to HDMI - for multiple display], which is available from Amazon {$40}. It works great! It is expensive, but it is a quality item supported {and provided} by her employer. There are lower priced adapters available {on Amazon} just make sure that they support multiple screens and that you have the USB and HDMI capability. Last night she showed me how she can move an entire display {form} from one monitor to the other by way of dragging her mouse ~ awesome!
