Great book. I saw that there were several criticisms of the binding. I suppose it may very well get a bit banged up over time but it's quite sturdy and I'm not bothered by the way the book is constructed. Good information and asks relevant and thoughtful questions.

Great content, but not a fan of the cut edges of the actual book. It feels as though someone overcoat the covers.

Really great book! We are museum junkies and this has been invaluable for my 8y/o. She really did ask me so often, "Why IS art full of naked people!?"

Reading this book the week before we went to the Met proved very helpful. It's a good way to open a child's eyes to the intention of the artist. Good conversation starter!

Liked the beautiful illustrations. Hard cover will help it last a long time in the art classroom.

Not all about naked people so don’t be fooled by the title.Explains lots of confusing things in a great simple way and intrigues children into art

The media could not be loaded.  I noticed Laurence King Publishers has been making art more accessible to the general public with some of the books they have published, this one included. The books I'm talking about are the This is artist monograph series.The book we have here is a 96-page hardcover authored by Susie Hodge. It answers commonly asked questions about the art world. For instance, the title itself is a question. There are many interesting questions like why paint, do artists copy each other, what's with all the fruit still life, do you have to be clever to look at art.The answers are presented in an easy to understand manner and it's not just enjoyable to read, it's also educational. The artworks featured are paintings from centuries ago with a selection of contemporary pieces.This book is a fun introduction to the art world and how artists think. It's a good read and worth the money. Poor quality print. The finish of the book is extremely poor, with the cardboard book cover cut the same length as the book, and the cardboard is exposed.The information inside the book is good though!

After visit to art galleries I have this one to my 8 year old. A very nice book
