According to the amazon page this hard drive was supposed to fit a Dell latitude d630 which I had and wanted to upgrade but after several tries I could not get it into the prongs on the old Dell. I went to you tube for a how to and everything I did was correct but the hard drive simply would not catch into the prongs and would read "no drive to copy windows to" which meant it wasn't going into prongs even with the cady attached and correctly placed. So why this is I do not know . . . but I checked the hard drive on another laptop to see if it was good and it was very good just wouldn't go into the d630. If anyone knows the trick to getting the prongs correctly hooked (it seems to be a delicate process which I could not do) please tip me on this! There must be a way. Unless this hard drive is not the right one and in that case Amazon should not advertise it as for dell latitude d630 because it just didn't go in. If you buy this beware that it may not fit into a Dell d630.
