The next big thing...
I was hesitant to buy "the next big thing" but I received an Amazon gift card and decided to give the distress oxides a try. I LOVE THEM!! They are nothing like any craft/art supply I own. There are so many techniques that you can do with them. They are VERY addicting and I hope Ranger comes out with more colors. I was so excited by how fast they came - I ordered them Tuesday evening and I got them Friday morning!!! The hardest part was going thru the work day wanting to just go home and play!!! If you like doing different techniques - give the distress oxides a try.

Fabulous inks, but there were two or three that were not quite as juicy as they should have been
Overall I'm happy with these, but I gave them before because there were two or three that don't seem to be quite as juicy. I know they have the same amount of ink so I got some distress refresher and that will help. However for me I wish now I had purchased them individually. At the time I bought these I thought I would want all 60 pads and now I realize there are some colors I just don't want. So purchasing else where I can actually save money getting them individually. As far as the distress oxide inks go they are really fabulous. Any water-based ink is going to react to water somewhat but I love just how reactive these are. I also love that you can let them dry or dry them with a heat gun and then layer other colors on top of them. These also stamp very nicely. They're kind of a combination between dye ink and pigment ink so you can boss with them, but they don't take near as long to dry as an all pigment ink.

Pads were kind of dry for new pads
I was looking forward to these like everyone else and I have to say they are very interesting to use. Having said that, I had to wait nearly a month to receive them even though I was sent a shipping notice. I realize that had to do with a brand new product and high demand but I think it also effected the quality of the ink pad I got. They seemed awfully dry for brand new pads. Luckily I also bought the reinker units so I decided to give the pads a shot of ink. They all soaked it up like they'd been used for a couple of years with the exception of one color. I think in order to get these ink pads out, they shorted the actual filling of them. That's the only reason I can come up with for new pads to be so dry. I'll post an update after I've let the inking sit for a while and actually use the pads again.

It's Tim Holtz, What's not to love?
Tim Holtz and Distress Ink, what's not to love? But add in the oxide and you get the WOW factor. These are so easy to work with and produce nice crisp effects. Blend well, but do not get that muddy look you can get with ink if it is over worked. Recommend having a dryer of some sort and start with a sturdy water color paper, as there can be lots of water and drying going on. The bundles do have a bit of a sticker shock with them, but just remember to break it down, after all you are getting twelve pads and they can run upwards to $6 each. This bundle is a year old, but does have a nice mix of colors for a starter pallet. I've reached a couple of times for a shade that is not included, but do not miss them enough to buy the bundle those colors are in. At least not yet.

Amazing product, great for any crafter or artist to have!
I love distress oxide inks! They bend together beautifully, then just spritz or sprinkle a little water on it and watch the magic as the oxidize!Create amazing looks worth these inks!Remember that the distress oxide inks give a chalky look while the regular distress inks are more of a traditional ink look.

YOU ARE GONNA LOVE THESE!
Was on the fence if I should make the investment in these since I have so many distressed inks. I have to say, I am so glad I made the investment! ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM! They have changed the way I make my cards. The vibrant colors are perfect for any card type. looks great on black paper. Don't hesitate like I did, BUY THEM! You won't regret it. I did buy the black oxide ink as well, after crafting with them for two weeks, I haven't used the black yet.

Creamier and still distresses well.
This is a great product. Compared to the regular distress inks line, it a "creamier" product. This leads to easier blending and retains all the distress properties. But, beware, one of the ink pads was completely detached from the base and caused the ink to cover the inside of the case. It also caused a mess after opening it and have the ink pad fall out. This does not deter me from recommending the product.
