🔬 Dive into Chemistry with Style!
The Organic Chemistry Model Kit is a comprehensive 239-piece educational tool designed to facilitate the understanding of molecular structures in organic and inorganic chemistry. It features color-coded atoms and bonds, an 8-page instructional guide, and is suitable for students from Grade 7 to graduate level, making it an essential resource for aspiring chemists.

Great for Organic Chemistry
I am taking Orgo 1 now and this kit is perfect. My professor has us use it to model structures in class and even on exams. My friends with slightly cheaper kits have had some trouble, but this is kind of the right balance between sturdy and not-too-expensive. Highly recommend. It also comes with a stencil for organic chemistry shapes which I didn't realize and is really nice. All of the bits also have resealable plastic bags which is helping me keep it organized. The lid of the box doesn't stay on without rubber bands though which makes it a bit of a hassle to carry around.

A MUST-have for Organic Chemistry
I just received the kit in the mail this evening and my only regret is that I wish I would have purchased this sooner. I was able to get through a full year of General Chemistry without using any models but I got to a breaking point with Organic Chemistry. This would have been so helpful when I was learning how to conceptualize Newman Projections, but I was able to work really hard and mostly get by. Chirality and assigning absolute configurations feels basically impossible without the model kit.If you’re taking O. Chem, do yourself a favor and buy the kit as early into the term as possible. Skip a few meals. Mow your neighbor’s yard. Sell something on eBay. Do what you need to do to get this kit.The molecules are really easy to build and pretty sturdy (especially if you’re mostly building chains with some methyls throughout the carbon chain and some functional groups here and there). However, if you build a ring structure like a hexene with some significant groups, the weight of it will pull on some parts of the structure a little. As long as you’re using both hands, this isn’t problematic, and really, we want the pieces to be flexible. I found the weight to be a little cumbersome when I built t-butyl-3-fluorine-3-methylcyclohexane, despite using two hands. But really, it was just the t-butyl group that was the thorn in my side. All in all, I’m really pleased with this purchase. There’s tons of pieces and I like that the box it comes in is partitioned off into 4 sections so you don’t have to keep the atoms and bonds in the baggies in order to keep them organized.

A very creative product
It is very impressive that such a product is useful for personal development and using creative intelligence.

Good for visualization of difficult concepts to grasp at the beginning
This was definitely useful when I first started learning chemical structures, as learning how atoms interact in three dimensions can be difficult to understand at first when just using 2D projections on paper. I haven't found much use for them outside of my first chemistry classes, but the kit is also just fun to mess around with and display your favourite molecule on your desk, for example. The pieces are easy to fit together and connect with single or double bonds, and are easy to take apart and store. There are several different colours to act as different elements, but you should be able to figure out how to pick a substitute for elements that are missing (send me a message if you need help with this).

Great product at a fair price 4.5/5
The pieces are not too big and easy to join. Once joined, they are pretty strong and the bonds can only be broken if you apply a normal (perpendicular) force to the hole. One thing I don’t like is overall box design. Instead of making it an attachable lid, its just fully detachable and held together by rubber bands. Can’t wait to drop the box and having 200+ pieces scattered everywhere. However, if you overlook its flaw, the product is really good.

Great for intro to organic chem
I bought two sets for my HS chem class and they work fine to illustrate simple chemical structures. The longer bonds used to create double bonds are a little tough to connect initially but overall not bad. The price is very good for all you get although it’s hard to get everything back on the box!

Helped turn a C into an A
My son was struggling with organic chemistry. The teacher advised the students to make study models from styrofoam and toothpicks instead of buying a kit. The kit turned out to be excellent quality and the perfect tool. He quickly caught on to the subject and his grades soared. There is no way that a DIY styrofoam kit could work as well or as effectively. The price of the kit is negligible compared to the cost financially, academically, and psychologically of having to retake a course.

paid for 425 we recived 239 pieces
I paid for a 425 piece kit and we only recived 239 piece kit!!! This is only half the value of what I actually paid for.Always check what you will get!!! This was a present, so we almost didn't notice, until just now. Very dissapointed.
