PLEASE see my video and photo of an actual candle (on the left) and the product (on the right).Ok, so I'm an electrical engineer and I really appreciate well-designed technology.These candles are *almost* perfect: they aren't *like* wax, they are REAL wax. They flicker just like a candle and can easily be programmed to turn on for a preset number of hours (2, 4, 6, or 8 hours).If you purchase multiple sets (I purchased 3 sets of 6) then all of the remotes can control all of the candles (a good design characteristic).The 'wick' (which is actually a wire) actually looks like a real wick.. very cool!They are pretty bright, too, though not quite as bright as a real candle (see my video and image comparison with a real candle).My only complaints are:- There should be multiple flicker modes, like a mode that has a little more 'off' time. Hey, it's a little computer so why not have multiple flicker modes?- They are just a little too long.- They use AAA batteries.. as an EE I know that the bigger the battery the longer they will last, so why not make the candle a little thicker and use a AA battery?- The single LED: it occurred to me that if they used two LEDs side-by-side then they could make the flickering much more realistic as the "flame" could appear to be moving. I would gladly pay a little more for a more realistic flame.I haven't tested the battery life yet, but if they last 2 months at 6 hours per day I'd be happy.I really don't understand the negative reviews about receiving cracked or 'dead' product.. if the product is broken then send it back, but don't post a negative review! All three of my orders were perfect- no broken items at all. Oh, and so far I haven't been paid for this review and I live in Pennsylvania, USA.Overall I'm very happy and I now have 18 candles burning every night for 6 hours. I'll edit this review later to report on the battery life.

After knowing someone who had a house fire due to a taper candle, I feel much better using these. I ordered one set and was so pleasantly surprised with the quality & how lovely they look. I love that they come with a remote & you can adjust the brightness and choose flicker or no flicker. In addition, you can set them on a timer. The best part is that they are safe. They create the ambiance without the worry. Real wax, and the flickering looks pretty realistic. I decided to order more & made the mistake of trying a different brand and had to return them. They were a strange yellow hue and were cracked. Not these, they are the perfect off white I wanted & not one cracked. I ordered another set of this brand, and they arrived in perfect condition just like the first set. I buy Costco battery piles for the holidays as I know I i’ll need lots, but so far these are going strong for a week of daily evening use. My home feels ready for festive gatherings, and less worry about forgetting to blow out one candle that could cause a fire. So not worth it. Real flame tapers are beautiful but not worth the worry. Buy these!!!!

First, Love these candles! got them for my mom for Christmas one year and she requested more for Christmas the next year. They work amazing, though the battery life could be a bit longer. Love how they flicker and sync up to turn on at the same time every night.Second, some of the reviews say if they arrive cracked the supplier will send you replacements...this is not the case for Canada!! the supplier can't send them to us in Canada for replacements, but they can refund $20, even though they ended up costing over $50 with shipping. By the time I had bought new ones to give as a gift, I was already way over budget.Love the Candles, but be warned if they come cracked

Unfortunately all 8 candles have hairline cracks. They candles came very well packaged, so the cracks are not due to damage in shipping. Maybe temperature fluctuations caused the cracking? Checked all 8 candles and they function well. Our batteries are Everyready and silver and black in colour, and there is no colour show-through in the wax. The 3-D flame flickers, but not as much as the “flat” flickering in my pillar candles. I’m not sure yet if the cracking will be a deal-breaker. I hate the thought of waste (have you seen the documentary on what happens to Amazon’s returns!!?). I will likely keep them and enjoy them regardless

Realistic flickering flames look good day or night! Good to use with table decorations - no risk of fire! (Three years ago dripping wax started a small fire and burned this table - it was an expensive repair!)Candles look real, feel waxy, are asy to turn on and off, love the adjustable timer feature!
