Hi Corrie, we recommend scrubbing out the inside with a bottle brush and patting down the outside with a wet towel. If you drink liquid other than water, rinse out with water as soon as you can. (This goes for any bottle). No dishwashers. And remember Mobot cares for you also :-)

Thanks for reaching out! MOBOT lids are built for some tough rocking and rolling! We do encourage users to make sure the lid is properly shut and screwed on tightly before rolling. While water doesn’t leak, you may catch a drip or two from excess water spilled when filling the MOBOT.

Q: anyone tried it while backpacking? How does it handle dirt and the small rocks/chunks that you inevitably find?

The bottle is very sturdy. Does not leak, does not randomly pop open. It can get heavy when you fill up with water but I truly do recommend this water bottle. I haven’t hiked with it or anything but I do work out and carry it with me when I do very active, a lot of movement activities.
