This book is an utter delight! Everything about it is upbeat and positive, and the artwork and story are wonderful together.The very youngest of children will enjoy having this read to them and following the story by looking at the pictures, which perfectly illustrate the "plot".BFF's Lolly and B. Bear are working together in their laboratory in the woods to create the perfect bowl of porridge when CRASH! the Gingerbread Man runs through and upsets everything!The chase is on, and the two friends pursue the naughty cookie through an amazing landscape of every fairy story, fable, and legend you can think of! Readers of all ages will have great fun identifying the different stories and characters, like The Three Little Pigs, Hansel and Gretel, and SO many more.There is also an observant Squirrel who appears on nearly every page and adds his or her dimension.At last the friends trap the Gingerbread Man with a slippery and sticky porridge trap. He is contrite for his accidental destruction and helps Lolly and B. Bear put everything back together. With his cooperation and input, they are able to create the perfect porridge, showing that working together with those previously considered "bad" can have positive results.The cover jacket says ages 4 to 8, but I was a teacher for 40 years, including kindergarten, and I know children down to the very youngest will love this book. I really liked it on various levels as an adult!Obviously, I recommend this book highly, and I will go look for the first book in the series.

I'm glad to see that Goldilocks (Lolly) and Baby Bear (B. Bear) have become friends after their original misunderstanding back in the day. I'm gladder still to see that they're working on a Porridge Perfecter, even if they haven't quite worked out the kinks yet. Enter the Gingerbread Man, whose special talent is to wreak havoc, and the chase is on! I love the way this book puts a new spin on familiar story-book characters. It's funny, surprising, and with the help of Joey Chou's colorful and engaging illustrations, a fast-paced and exciting read with valuable lessons about cooperation and friendship.

Cleverly written children's book that is also fun for the adults who are reading the story. A wonderful gift for a grandchild or friend's birthday. The little twist at the end is a wonderful life lesson and reminder for both children and adults, alike! Got it for my 5 year old but I think my 8 year old enjoyed it just as much!

This is such a great book! Perfect for all ages. I bought it for my 2 year old daughter, but my 8 year old enjoyed it as well. Well written and beautifully illustrated!
