Our electric clothes dryer was not performing well so I thought I'd try this product to clean out the dryer vent line in our 15 year old house. It worked well. I was skeptical but a professional job in my area was going to be over $100 and this was cheaper. The 2 foot long sectional rods threaded together easily and were flexible enough to make the 90 degree bend up the dryer exhaust chute with a reasonable amount of effort. CAUTION: you need to be patient while feeding the rod and attached brush to clean the line. You will also want to have a vacuum near by to gather up the loosened lint. The only regret I have is that I did not get the kit that also provided a sleeve to hold the rods and a shop vac attachment to vacuum as you cleared the duct. This was a good and serviceable choice and I'm glad that I chose this item. Postscript: The clothes dryer is now working as it did before and we saved an unnecessary maintenance visit. - a satisfied customer.

This ia a great product for cleaning out dryer vents....I was concerning at first because it did not have a 4" cap that you could attach a vacuum to suck out lint.....however, if you put in the brush from the dryer side and push to the outside, you don't need it.....My run was exactly 20" long with 1- 90 degree bend at the four foot location and the 2nd 90 degree bend 4' from that.....then it was a straight 12' to the outside vent hole in the wall....I used a power drill and placed it on #1 setting and a torque value of 12......dont go past that.....when I started pushing the rods in, it was a pain in the butt to have to stop every 2' and add another 2' section.....you have to take the drill off, take the adapter off, add new rod, tape it and place adapter back on drill and connect the drill back onto the rod.....this is my only complaint....the function of the product does exactly what it is supposed to do....I put in a new dryer vent 3 years ago because the other one was built into the wall, and dropped down below the foundation and was connected to my drain system.....that worked great but neither I nor anyone else could get it cleaned out because it would not go past the first 90 bend......now it is a simple job.....less than 10 minutes cleaning and 55 minutes connecting, tapping and screwing rods together.....but, the vents are totally clean and dryer never even thinks about cogging up.....in fact, after 3 years of drying clothes with our gas dryer, all we got out was a ball of lint about 4" in diameter and 5" long...highly recommend this product.....but I do wish it had a 3' rod.....

Updated**All of the below remain true, BUT: the threads are NOT 1/4. They are 3/8. Regular chimney brushes will NOT fit on these rods.Too sad, had to return. The bendy rods are great, though.I've tried a few of these sorts of things to clean my woodstove from the bottom.All of the previous rods could not navigate the bend at the bottom, as there is a slight offset from the fire brick frame and the stove pipe.THIS set bended well enough to handle it fine. Nice and sturdy, went all the wat to the top of my chimney stack.

We run 50 apartment units and service calls had been increasing over time with “dryers not drying.” We realized it was mainly due to dirty ducts restricting airflow. This kit has been hugely helpful. The smaller brush that attaches to the rods is great for first run cleaning of very dirty ducts, and the larger, full bore brush, is great after the bulk of the lint has been removed. We removed a full grocery bag of lint from one 20’ run of duct. I have also used the 4” brush to clean 6” air conditioning ducts where a tenant did not use filters. It helped move a lot of dust out of those vents. The rods bend easily, but are stiff enough to get through 2 90 degree bends. I am very happy with this product.

Worked as described. I did not bother taping the joints but i made sure i only turned it in a clockwise direction both going in and pulling out. Joints did tighten after use so needed pliers to loosen and unscrew. Easy DIY and money saver vs paying someone else. Also shared it with neighbors and daughter so well worth it. Used about 20-25 feet of tubing. Helps to have a second person to guide it in as you are using the drill but I did manage to do it by myself.
