I ordered this on a whim because I keep trying different lotions with none of them helping. Organic, non-organic, gel, cream, “water.” Expensive (origins- $35) or not (the ordinary- $7). This is the best I’ve found for my skin, which is very oily on my forehead but dry on my cheeks, and breakouts always happening on my jaw line. It applies well, and absorbs very quickly which I really like. The scent is minimal, for me it’s not a problem, I don’t mind heavily scented, even though this isn’t perfumed. I put it on after washing my face in the PM, and when I woke up my skin still felt moisturized, no new breakouts, and no sheen. My skin still felt clean, not oily or sticky. It’s got about a 12 hour life on my skin before I could apply more, but I don’t feel my skin desperate for more since it seems to actually have absorbed well. I definitely like the glass bottle, it looks expensive and sturdy, for travel I’m sure it would be bad. There was no damage to the product which was great, I was worried buying it online with other stuff it might be poorly packaged. I wish they made a body lotion like this. I know there’s a water gel product for the body but I had an allergic reaction to that one so I was pleasantly surprised with this. It looks like it will last a while too.

This is my favorite go-to face moisturizer it works, I use it night and day before I put on my makeup. It plumps your skin, smooths, and evens your skin out. I highly recommend this. It almost goes on like a serum absorbs quickly and soothes my skin. Loreal products are fabulous and this one does not disappoint. it's my fav. You will not be disappointed in this one, it goes a long way worth the money.

I have HIGHLY sensitive combination skin that is more oily than dry for the most part, and tend to be suspicious of most beauty products because the vast majority cause me breakouts.I usually use Biossance Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer - which is about as close to perfect as I have found for my skin type. However, when I run out when I’m traveling or staying out of town for a bit, I sometimes grab a bottle of this for convenience since it’s easy to get anywhere. My husband also uses it. It’s a quick, easy, and affordable back up in a pinch!The PROS:While this initially broke me out during the first week of use, the breakout subsided and it does not irritate my sensitive skin too much. Where my combination skin is concerned, I appreciated how this moisturizer can be layered thickly during winter when more moisture is needed. If I happen to be using it when the weather is hot and humid, only a thin application layer is needed. It absorbs nicely, sits well under makeup, and doesn't leave my skin feeling tacky or oily. The consistency and texture is exactly what can be expected from most aqua gel moisturizers.THE CONSThere is SO much fragrance in this product. So much so that when I first attempted to use it, I was afraid to put it on my skin. Fragrances can irritate sensitive skin and I remain suspicious of the strong fragrance in this moisturizer but to be fair, it has not irritated my skin as much as a lot of other fragranced face products. But quite honestly, I have never ever used another aqua gel moisturizer with this much fragrance, and I wish L'Oreal would make a non-fragranced version as it really ruins the experience of applying the moisturizer. It's not a calming scent or a fresh, natural scent like a light citrus either - it smells like cheap air freshener to me. Also, while this moisturizer does not seem to overly irritate my skin, absorbs well, and keeps it sufficiently hydrated, I'm not sure that it necessarily improves my skin in any noticeable way.I might keep using it when I need to but wouldn’t call this my holy grail moisturizer by any means.But I do recommend people with combination/oily skin give this a shot - especially if you're not too sensitive to fragrance. Despite my gripes with some aspects of the product, I have definitely found it to be superior to the vast majority of drug store moisturizers for our skin type.

I love this stuff. My face feels a lot smoother, it’s very moisturizing, and I can just hear all the little wrinkles calling goodbye to me as they sadly head for places unknown.…😪 (🤗) I would caution you to use it every day without missing more than a day when you must; I’ve found it’s most effective when I’m consistent. And it’s important to cleanse first, however you like to do that. I cleanse, and then wring out a very cold, wet washcloth and hold it on my eyes for several minutes (because I do this, it seems to eliminate my need for dry-eyes eyedrops!) Then I use about four little squirts of Genius, and that covers my whole face and neck. I use it under and beside my eyes as well, but I started out slowly with that. One bottle usually lasts me more than a month. L’Oreal did a super job with Hydra Genius. Since I’ve been doing this consistently for over a year, it might be the reason so many people tell me they can’t believe I’m a 71-year-old great grandmother! 😇

Something needs to be really amazing for me to write a review. And this is really amazing! I know I should be moisturizing my face, but the past 2 years my forehead gets oily all of a sudden about halfway through the day. So, I tend to use just coconut oil AM and PM. But I KNOW I should do a little more. I read the reviews before ordering this. Some thought the scent was too strong, some thought it was great. I was specifically looking for a moisturizer that did not just sit on my skin. This is is! Personally, I LOVE the scent (it reminds me a little of Rose Hip Oil)!!!! And I love that one pump will glide over my face and it feels refreshing and not just sitting on my skin. I'm stuck. I'll be using this for a while, for sure. And with the price already being very affordable and only needing one pump? That is a big plus for me.
