Velcro closure is more comfortable than standard metal loops
I’ve gone through a lot of ankle and wrist. Weights and most of them are constructed the same way other than their closures. The most common form has a metal loop that the Velcro strap goes through and then pulls back around. These almost always quickly wear out. The straps friction with the metal ring Combined with the weight of the product tear it apart within a month if you wear it very often. This particular brand has straight Velcro of Velcro closure without that intermediate loop. They’re easier to put on by far and I have every reason to believe they will hold up far better. They are also more comfortable because of that lack of a pinch point.

These work great and are comfortable!
Absolutely the best ankle weights I have used, purchased the other brand with just a strap through the middle with the d ring, did not stay in place, strap rubbed on my heal or front of foot, had to keep adjusting so I returned them and purchased these, they stay where you put them. I use them to do incline on the treadmill and so far they are great. These were also cheaper than the other brand. The weight is not adjustable, they are sewn in.

Nice & comfy but run really BIG! They barely hold on ankle
These are super comfy and easy to put on but they are quite large. I don’t have skinny ankles/legs and have a bit of extra fluff on me right now as well and these are huge around my ankles. If I made these as tight as I would like there’s no Velcro to hold them on. Even with fastening them so the Velcro can stick on a larger part of its available space one fell off while I was just walking around my house. These could be awesome if the adjustable Velcro piece had more area to adjust. The way these are currently made I don’t see how anyone could do any sort of workout with these that involves moving much :/

Good as ankle weights
I ordered these weights to add extra resistance to my workouts. They are quality made and seem like I would really have to try in order to damage them. They also are a great fit around the ankles. The problem is they do the same thing on the wrists. I’ve tried tightening them up as much as I can, but they still feel clunky. They also slide up and down, which makes some workout moves a problem. I’ll keep using them as ankle weights and will look for other wrist weights that have a more snug fit.

Are these weights my miracle?
Are these weights my miracle? Recuperating from knee arthroplasty and 3x's a week, I'm in physical therapy for nearly two months now... Decided to try a heavier ankle weight to help strengthen my quads and glutes. We used a 3-pound ankle wrap in PT, and I decided to try the 5-pound one on each ankle at home. After one day of walking around with the weights on and doing some squats, leg lifts, etc., I can literally feel the difference. Some miracles we have to work harder for than others...

Good ankle weights
The velcro and strap are better than the small straps. Less chafing on ankles.
