Blackwelder Coffee, 100% Arabica Espresso Whole Bean Coffee, Fresh Roasted Coffee Beans 16oz (1lb) Bag | Rich Taste, Perfect Crema Finish

Of the many thousands of espressos I've made at home this may be my favorite, yet. One word: delicious!!An amazingly rich, flavorful coffee without being bitter or acidic. Wonderful aroma out of the bag that hints at the complex flavors of the final brew. (Some other brands disappoint in this area, setting us up to expect a wonderful coffee... then failing to deliver, or only having a very thin flavor or bitter finish.). This one so good I'm tempted to try a cup when I get home from work at night, even knowing I won't sleep 'till 2am! By noon, I'm already looking forward to another cup in the morning.(Brewed wtih a Breville 860xl with grind at 11, dispense volume at 12 o'clock for a double-shot).So, is this coffee for you? It's difficult to say without trying but for comparison here are some other coffees I enjoy for espresso or cafe latte: Lavazza Gran Crema and Crema Aroma (both are extremely smooth, but not as rich as blackwelder), Don Pablo Organic (a milder roast, also very smooth), Starbucks Cafe Verona (a favorite for everyday coffee, rich cocoa & smoky) and a local (for me) roaster: Counter Culture : Hologram or Forty-Six blends (covering the mocha/java/chocolate flavor ranges, fairly bold with a hint of smokyness similar in a way to Cafe Verona). Basically I am looking for smoothness, no acidic or bitter profile, no nutty flavors, absolutely no 'burned' flavors, and a variety of richness -- from very smooth and light, to bold but with an interesting range of flavors. Blackwelder 100% Arabica lands on the bold side of this spectrum.(edit: typo, added other coffees in similar range for comparison)

A good cup of espresso is sometimes hard to come by. This is particularly true when you’re making them at home. Recently we got a Breville Barista and we’ve been looking for that perfect roast ever since. By no means do I consider myself a barista or anything like that. Just a guy who likes his espresso in the morning. I personally think this is one of the best we’ve tried so far. The taste is so rich and flavorful. The crema finish is gorgeous. This is one of my personal favorite espresso brands and I’m going to stock up some more from these guys. Incredibly happy with the taste and the price is right. Definitely give it a go if you like the boldness and richness in a cup of espresso.

I am on the hunt for the best espresso and so far, this is in my top 3 that I have tried. I would definitely purchase this again.

Yeah, this knocked my illy off the pedestal for me. I drink shots of espresso, and this can be a serious addiction. I really have to control myself. Taste like dark chocolate with cocoa. My taste buds go into a happy spasm.

It is coffee, but it’s poor espresso coffee. The beans are roasted but not to the shine that an espresso bean should be. Espresso had a weak crema, and we all know that’s not what an espresso roast should be.

First time trying and been drinking this all week. Really enjoy the flavor and it's very smooth. Beans grind well, not too oily, and has a nice aroma. Makes great espresso and grind produces a good consistent stamp when making shots. Will buy again.

I really like this coffee! 2 cappuccino's a day now. I like it more than the koffee kult. A bit more expensive but worth it

Definitely a more defined and stronger expresso taste. Enjoyed this one and I will order again.
