RevellMonogram 1:25 - '48 Ford Police Coupe 2n1

I have built model airplanes for years and found Revell models were not nearly as good as Tamiya. Revell's model cars, however, are a completely different story. I decided to switch from airplanes to autos and read that Revell car models were a lot better than their planes. This was a quality model that took some time and patience to complete but I think it turned out pretty good (see video). I have a few suggestions to help improve the looks of the completed model. First, all of the parts, which come as white plastic, were primed with Tamiya sky gray. The body was then given three light coats of Tamiya light blue. The under carriage parts were painted with Tamiya flat black. For the rusted parts, I used a mix of Tamiya Hull red and flat black. I painted all of the chrome parts, except the hub caps, with Tamiya chrome silver which matched the chrome stripes I painted on the body. I dipped the windows in Pledge Renew Floor gloss. All of the parts came off their sprues without any flash that was never the case with Revell Airplane models. I now plan on doing more Revell model cars.

This kit was a joy to build. All parts fit and were accurate to the car itself.

Look around you can find one alittle cheaper than here . Other than that a great kit .

Been waiting so long for an afordable 48 ford, and the fact its a 2n1 with police partd, made my early chridtmas. Great kit, fast shipping, well packed A++ i do apologize for a late review.

This kit is very well made. However my only issue I personally had was that my kit was missing parts. My kit was missing all 4 tires.

Seller sent this in good condition, also arrived in OK time. Model is a typical Revell level 5, takes time to build properly and you must study instruction several times. This model has brilliant under body chassis detailing along with engine bay detail. The interior is also well moulded. Had great enjoyment building this, it may be a little fiddly for some people but this is due to high detail and small parts.

Bought as a gift for my dad that loves building model cars etc he seemed to like it. He mentioned he needed to go out for paint for it though don’t know wether that’s just down to his personally preference wanting a different colour or there was none in it.

Beautifully detailed, parts accurately moulded. A tricky build, but producing a very satisfying result
