I have a Haulmark trailer and the electric brake cable has rusted out. In the past I have just bought a new cable for $14. That was because I didn't have a crimper or a way to replace the cable. Not only does this come with EVERYTHING you need to get started, but it is extremely easy to use. The crimper works great and I was able to replace the electric brake cable in under 5 minutes. I have enough wire to make several more cable and only using this once basically paid for itself. You won't be disappointed with this purchase if you're looking for a crimper to do a few odd and end jobs around the house. My guess is this will hold up for many crimping jobs as the quality of the tool seems to be durable.

I’ve been working with “wire rope” (in my case more wire string, mostly 1/16”) for years. I’ve never had the correct tools, cutting the wire any way I could and crushing the ferrules with vise grips. For the occasional home user this seems like a great kit. My work’s appearance improved about 100%, I think it is also stronger than my cobbled together work. The “crusher” forms the ferrule beautifully, the cutters cut the wire cleanly, the wire has been out side in my marine environment home with no obvious corrosion for over a week, better than some already. Longer term is still open.

Ordered this for a specific purpose, replacing wire hangers on bird feeders and other exterior uses. Works as expected. Arrives with a small quantity of 3 different sized ropes.

Honestly I was reluctant to purchase an actual crimp tool for this duty. I have any number of wire crimp tools that make a secure crimp, and have done so. Well I needed a better look for a project and pulled the trigger on this device. The crimper does a very good job in securing the connection whilst looking good, the cutter does a way better job than my cutter in making a clean cut. For me, the tool and case were very nice for the money, its probably a lifetime tool.

This is one of those tools I should have purchased a long time ago. It is so easy to make my own wire rope. I use the wire rope to secure my Christmas decorations in my front yard every year and more recently on my travel trailer. We pulled into the campground and found the wire rope on my trailer emergency break away switch had snapped. Luckly, I had my tool, and I was able to replace it in no time.

The wire is very thin and easy to cut. I wanted to use it as a theft deterrent but this set is too thin of wire. I need much heavier grade for security. The tool itself is well made and cuts the wires easily. Nice case. Am using it to hang lights/plants and to attach a gas cap to the boat. Small, light duty use. Am now looking at this version on steroids
