Ed Emberley's Drawing Book of Weirdos Paperback – June 22, 2005

Ed Emberly's books are all amazing! They make drawing fun for kids and spark creativity. One of my favorite books from my childhood was an Rd Emberly drawing book. I got this one for my grandson. It arrived in a timely manner and was in great condition for a used book.

These books are great for kids learning to draw. My 5 year old can easily follow the steps and the end product usually looks the it's suppose to. What I really like about these books is that they break a picture down into manageable steps allowing the student to learn the process needed to create an end product. I've noticed that my sons art work in general has improved. These make great gifts with a pad of paper and colored pencils!

I am not an artist. I have never really drawn anything. I picked this book up because Austin Kleon recommended the author and I thought the title was fun. I started drawing in minutes and had a great time. I teach math and I can see me using this book in class when I discuss compound area problems. Many of the drawing are comprised of rectangles, circles and other similar basic geometric shapes. I now have a small sketchbook and a handful of Sharpies to make other sketches. I decided to order several other books from the same author but this is one is my favorite. Thanks to this book I have started drawing and doodling some of my favorite cartoons. A BIG bang for the buck for me with this book. And this is from a 40+ year old who never drew anything before. Very fun and inspiring.

I love Ed emberley's work so much! It teaches my kid (4 years old) to draw in such a easy and fun way that he can spend hours drawing. I' pm buying all of his books and have all the collection.For me it has been a live changer. I've used all of the 7 Emberley's books that I own to improve my drawing and get better at my graphic facilitation skills. It has also given my a beautiful activity to do with my kid. It one of the things we love to do together.

Ed Emberly books are a great way to help kids break down the drawing process. At first I was concerned following the steps took away some of the creativity of drawing, but that has not proven to be the case. My five year old son absolutely loves it. He went from refusing to draw because he couldn't get the pictures the way he wanted them to sitting down daily with his Ed Emberly books. He gets a huge sense of accomplishment from being able to draw the characters. This book is a bit more advanced than the "Animals" version, so you might want to consider starting with an easier book, but the kids love the zany creatures you can draw in this one. My son thanked Ed Emberly for helping him learn to draw before he went to sleep the other night.

My son borrowed one of the other Ed Emberley books from his school library - he's 6 and these are just an awesome way to show them how easily they can make cool drawings. He recognized "ed emberley" and was very happy to get it.

I teach art to kids and everyone loves drawing these weirdos!! Ed Emberley's method is to have an "alphabet" of simple shapes in the beginning, and then every character in his book uses those simple shapes in his step-by-step drawings. The kids had much success with this method and were very pleased with their results. I love Ed Emberley books & this one is a huge hit with elementary aged kids. It's good any time of year, but an especially good art lesson around Halloween!

When my children were small I used Ed Emberley's books to draw pictures for them (not being very artistic myself!!). As they grew, they used the books to develop drawing skills...or, in reality, instead of doing homework. Now I have grandchildren and I bought the books to introduce them to creative drawing using basic shapes. It is fun to see a product span the generations. An Ed Emberley book, a box of good colored pencils and a pad of drawing paper make a fairly inexpensive gift that needs no batteries and uses something today's children seem to lack...their imagination.

Great drawing book. Best for ages 6-10.

Having purchased almost all of Ed Emberley’s drawing books for my own children I decided to invest in some for the kindergarten I work in. This book of weirdos is a real treat for the kids - the simple drawing techniques make it effortless to attempt what look like complicated drawings. It says on the first page, if you can draw a square, a circle and a straight line you can draw these characters.I have spent many hours already with kids from aged 3 to 6 as we attempt to draw Frankenstein or King Kong or my personal favourite, the funky looking werewolf. One tip I would give is that the main colors can be any colouring pencil but for the drawings to really pop, use a fine line black felt pen for the small details.

Mio nipote già dallo scorso anno, aveva 4 anni, utilizzava il libro di espressioni della stessa serie per comporre i suoi capolavori con buoni risultati. Visto il grande interesse ora gli ho regalato questo dei mostri ed ha esultato nel riceverlo sperimentando subito un'esempio del libro.Consiglio tutti i libri di questa serie.

Es una maravilla. Cualquiera puede dibujar un monstruo siguiendo las indicaciones muy muy sencillas que te marca el libro. Ideal para que los peques se pasen las horas muertas dibujando monstruos. El libro es muy finito, pero el contenido es más que suficiente. A mí me ha encantado
