This works very well to neutralize odors! I add a drop of favorite essential oil too, for a bit of scent that I like/tolerate. Like other reviewers, though, it can be frustrating to use (must stir Really Well before each use, even if 2x daily, because it separates). If you don't stir it up completely and thoroughly, the bottom layer just gets hard as a rock.The stir-stick BROKE in half during stirring, so no longer have something to stir with that can remain inside the jar. But that short stick was messy anyway, being stored inside the jar!Agree w other reviewers about the liquid could leak out if container is laid on its side.Contents can also easily squish out the top during stirring [think about stirring a brand new jar of natural peanut butter].I never experienced a rash; I might guess that baking soda alters the pH of skin which might contribute to rash, especially if one could have subtle razor burn (skin barrier not intact) from shaving.I rated this a "5" because of how well it actually works, but considered lower rating because the stir-stick broke in half. Would like to see this formulation in a stick format.

I developed a brownish-pink 'rash'/stain on the lower half of my armpit after 5 days of use. It started as just a thin pink 'smile' on the right side but now it is on both sides and the smile is brownish-pink and 2" wide! It does not itch or sting yet. I am trying to return it. Amazon says it is not returnable, but the listing says NOTHING about being nonreturnable. Next note will be to Amazon.It DOES, in fact, WORK for me to control odor.Both jar and lid are plastic. Comes with thick stir stick in jar. Has stayed stirred together for 5 days although I do a little stirring before each use to be certain the baking soda and corn starch are incorporated. I love this deodorant. It is VERY effective. The formulation is clearly right on point. I had bought another natural deodorant to compare it to, and this one is just 10/10 on effectiveness. Also, after application, when I wash my hands, it goes right off. No oily residue.BUT, this is why I'm giving it 4 stars:- the deodorant contains a mix of deodorant and oil. The oil separates daily, so almost every time I use this product, I have to re-mix the oil with the deodorant. It's annoying, the little mixing stick is short and hard to manipulate, and it takes time. Also, the other day, this pot accidentally got turned onto its side in the bathroom, and the oil oozed out through the side. So, now I don't have any more oil inside it, and I'm using it without oil (or by mixing with some body oil to give it the consistency so it's easy to put on). If the deodorant formula itself wasn't so good, I'd be giving this product 1 star just for this issue.- there must be a way to put this product into a deodorant stick. Digging into it with fingers is messy and complicates an easy task. I would reorder this product in a heartbeat if it were in a stick. I just don't want to get my fingers dipped in deodorant every time I put on my deodorant. I am willing to buy a worse deodorant with a stick than to use a great deodorant without a stick.

This deodorant is OUTSTANDING! I have a skin reaction to almost all store bought women's antiperspirants/deodorants and have found the "natural" deodorants completely ineffective at odor control. I even tried men's deodorants without antiperspirant but they didn't do the trick. I was frankly sick of smelling like a foul barn after working out or even after just waking up after a good night's sleep. After reading the below reviews I purchased 3 natural cream deodorants and have been using them now for the past 2 months. Here is my review comparing them in terms of odor control, comfort of use, and dryness. The 3 deodorant creams purchased were Purelygreat Women's Citrus Cream Deodorant, Crawford Street Lemon Deodorant Cream, and Schmidt's Natural Deodorant Bergamot + Lime. Here are the pluses and minuses for each in order of my preference.Purelygreat Natural Deodorant for Women Citrus: Best Overall Odor control with the best antiperspirant functionPros: Absolutely the best odor control of the 3 products. I can put it on in the morning, exercise, sleep all night and have virtually no body odor the next morning. The smell is not overpowering or "perfumy", it just works as an outstanding neutralizer against BO. The smell starts out strongly of citrus (grapefruit, orange, lime, & cypress) but quickly fades to a light clean scent. It also works as an antiperspirant.Cons: It can cause some skin irritation if it is used immediately after shaving. It has a slightly grainy and tacky texture with application that takes some getting used to. The product does separate and requires frequent stirring. I wish it came with a small plastic stir stick/applicator.Crawford Street Lemon Deodorant CreamPros: The best smelling of the creams right out of the jar, lightly floral, deliciously lemon, but not as long lasting odor protection. It also works as a light antiperspirant. This cream has the best consistency and texture of the 3 products as it is based in coconut & shea oil. It does not separate. With application it feels silky and moisturizing.Cons: Requires reapplication at the end of the day for improved odor and wetness control. It was the most expensive of the creams and did not come with free shipping. I wish it came with an applicator.Schmidt's Natural Deodorant - Bergamot + limePros: Ok smelling, has a bit more musk than the other two and was more gender neutral, although one boy said he didn't like smelling of fruit." It was the lest expensive of the 3 creams. This cream does not separate. It comes with a great little plastic applicator.Cons: It is my least favorite in terms of smell. In general it did not work with my body scent, required multiple reapplications for improved odor control and seemed to just cover up the BO instead of neutralizing it. It was the least effective antiperspirant, The cream was chalky and slightly crumbly. It is also irritating to the skin if used after shaving.

I waited to submit a review because I wanted to give this a fair shot. At first I wasn't sure if I liked this but after using it for a while I have to say that I will continue to purchase this product. The things I didn't like at first are: 1. you have to give this a stir everyday before using because the ingredients tend to separate a bit. It comes with a stir stick which fits nicely inside the jar so I just keep it in there. 2. The texture feels wet & goopy (although it is smooth), not nice and dry like antiperspirant sticks. That's it, but I got used to it and those things no longer bother me at all. This stuff works so well, better than anything I've ever used before whether natural or not. It doesn't stop you from sweating because it's a deodorant not antiperspirant but I found that over time my body adjusted and I tend to sweat less than before (probably because the sweat glands aren't being blocked anymore so don't need to overproduce). I used to sometimes reapply previous deodorants to freshen up but this stuff keeps me so fresh with one application, there is zero sweat smell even when I wake up the next day. Amazing product and reasonable price as you need to use very little.

I was hoping this product would be a good replacement for one I used to use. However, it requires to be stirred with a teeny little spatula that is inside the container which I wouldn't mind except the product settles like cement in the bottom so more work then I want. It seemed to work well, however I had a major allergic reaction to it and for the last week have had burning rashes under both my arm pits. Disappointed.

This works really well and lasts longer than a stick of deodorant does. It's a bit messy but I still prefer it to putting chemicals on my body.

It be nice if the product stayed distributed it keeps seperating. When I bought it it was completely seperated and took awhile to get it mixed. It says floral scent.. but does not smell like flowers whatsoever! Smells like citronella which might be good to keep away mosquitoes or bugs but not a scent on my armpits. Maybe there's some ppls that don't mind smelling like that just not me.. not unless I'm going hiking lol. I tried it out it did work for most of the day. To make it floral it should be more of rose scent or a different flower. If it smells mostly like citronella call it citronella or citrus.

I've been on the hunt for a natural deodarant and I've been happiest with purely great so far.It's important to note that natural deodorants to not prevent sweating but do control odor. After a brief detox period off my antiperspirant (a day or two) this stuff really works. I apply after showering and will find now that I don't smell like 24 hours later, and often don't apply it every day. I mostly just use it right after showering.It's a little messy having to reach in and grab my spatula to mix it all together before use. But, since it actually works its worth it.ALSO I do not recommend using the same day as shaving which can be tricky. It states on the container to not use "immediately after shaving" I waited like 3 hours... still too soon. Burning and itching. But.... the next day after shaving. No problems. But again when I use this exclusively it has regulated by armpits so well that I can usually go that day and not worry about it!I got the lavendar scent. Would recommend and would purchase again.
