Exactly what we needed!
We bought a new house this year, and some of the doors were just a shade too narrow for my wheelchair to fit through. After having a brand new mortgage, we did not want to sink a lot of money into custom renovations to widen doors in our new construction home. Because it was in a production builder's subdivision, we were not able to customize it upfront, but we did need just a few things changed here and there, so we started looking for other options. I had heard of this type of hinge before, but had never used one, so we decided to give these a try. They were so functional we ended up buying a set for every door we needed to have just a little bit wider. Now, I have access to all the rooms I need to and we never had to change a door frame at all! Would definitely recommend if you just need doors a little bit wider than they already are.

A little pricey for a hinge... but
I needed these to make my 32" wide doors 2" wider for my mobility chair to clear it. These minimize any chance of scrapping the door (or knuckles) as you pass thru doors. I bought 4 sets but be careful to get the correct radius, I ordered the wrong one the first time I ordered one to test it out - but got the right one on second order and they fit like a glove - and do a great job. You may have to chisel o router out 1/8" inch as they seem a little thicker than standard (cheap) hinges - they are definitely heavy duty. Great for handicapped folks in chairs. Love 'em.

Took some adjusting, normal for door hardware installation
Summary: The hinge wraps around the frame, over the trim. You might need to make some adjustments or take some material off with a chisel to get the door to close just right. If you can replace a door knob or a deadbolt, you can probably do this. There's plenty of information online on how to fix a door that drags or won't latch that can help. They were a perfect fit for the 24" builder grade bathroom door our house came with. They fit right into the cutouts on the door and the frame, the screw holes even lined up! But after getting them installed the door wouldn't quite close, the door kept hitting and dragging on the frame just under the strike plate.I ended up using a chisel to take about 1/16" of material from the frame behind the hinges, but once they were installed you couldn't even tell. This might be because the door was so narrow to begin with. Pretty normal adjustments for installing door hardware. They seem well built, but could use tighter tolerances to close the gap between the mounting surfaces when the hinge is closed.

Make the doorway wider!
Bought two of these to enlarge the opening of 30" interior doors so that a wheelchair could go through them. Worked great in adding another inch of space.

The offset hinges worked perfectly.
My wife is disabled & uses a motoized scooter to get around the house but she couldn't get into some of the rooms. The offset hinges opened the door width and additional 2". It doesn't sound like a lot but it was plenty enough to allow her to enter those rooms. They're easy to install. I did it by myself. They fit our doors perfectly. My wife was extremely happy.

NOT BRASS Material, but is plated steel. Strong Hinge.
Why is the material listed as brass when it is not??!! It is plated steel. So I consider this to be false advertising and hence the low review number. Otherwise the hinges are ok.The photo shows a magnet stuck to the hinge, clearly indicating it is not brass. Brass is not magnetic! I also drilled extra mounting holes in them and the metal is definitely steel of some sort. Inside the metal is grey My application is a roof exit door, which is covered in copper. Steel in contact with copper results in an electro-chemical corrosion process that destroys the copper! Brass is safe. It is a strong hinge and is of reasonably thick steel. The thickness is ~0.1". The spacing between the two plates when closed is ~0.125" allowing one to use oval headed counter sunk screws as well as flush. The screws that comes with the hinges are also plated steel and are magnetic.Yes, being under an deadline, I installed them with stainless steel screws. But I will definitely have to fix the potential corrosion problem some other way.

Works great!
I was a little concerned when the hinges arrived. They were poorly packaged, all the bags had been opened and the screws were loose. However, I decided to use them anyway. It took a few tries to get them on properly. But, once they were on they worked beautifully. My husband can now get through the door with his walker much easier. AMAZING PRODUCT!
