Not as sturdy nor wide as expected nor depicted. Would recommend another shelf

Holes don't line up, and while trying to attach shelves all screws stripped out.

Commentary: Good medium sized shelf for the home office. The dimensions are accurate and this fit pretty well with my home. Beige carpet and tan walls with a white roof went okay with the wooden finish. I was very impressed with the instructions and the parts and pieces. The packaging was meant to protect the item and came in VERY compact but good package. Impressive. The shelf seems sturdy enough and I piled a bunch of binders and books on it already since it feels sturdy. The powdered metal frame is good and doesn't show rust or missed welds. Which is all positive.Looks: Looks okay, I would not put this somewhere like the living room. I keep it in my home office and it barely makes the cut, a little "college apartment" looking I think so nothing upscale.Size: It is the right size like I said for medium use. This shelf will not dominate the wall. The tope shelf is eye level which I like, though I could have used one more level I think and I would have been happier. The frame is not too wide so perhaps this is a good thing.Instructions: Excellent.Assembly: Easy... 30 minutes with a screw driver and 1 person. All the holes matched up and fit. Everything labeled clearly with stickers (remove of course after assembling). Plenty of extra parts.Packaging: Superb.Conclusion: I would purchase another. I wish there were more color options and possibly an enclosed one to put in the living room. But the price point is fantastic for this product. If you're in college or your starter home, this is an awesome buy at this price point.

We live in an industrial-style loft apartment with a mid-century modern decor scheme and this bookshelf fit in perfectly. It was easy to assemble, it is very sturdy, and it looks beautiful regardless of the price.

One of the pieces of the outer frame wasn't drilled properly. I called the customer service number and was almost immediately connected to a helpful person who arranged to send a replacement. I was able to assemble the shelves temporarily without making the connections through the missing holes, thanks to a supply of small c-clamps. The packaging was sturdy and well-cushioned by structures of corrugated cardboard. The steel structural components are light but strong. They're easy to put together with the provided Allen-head machine screws and wrench. After the delivery of the replacement piece, I completed the installation and loaded the shelf completely full of heavy textbooks and reference works. It's sturdy and stable. In summary, an excellent product, great value.

Assembled this shelf quickly and had it in use within an hour -- a fine value for the money. Clean, no nonsense design and perfect for the space I had available.

I needed some bookcases in my home office. I purchased two, one to go on either side of a window. They are about 5 feet tall. They are not extremely wide, but having two works out great for me. The reason why I dropped on star was because two of the shelves had screw holes that were too big for the screws. We used wood glue on the screws to help adhere them and put them on the bottom shelves where I will be putting books. I did like that they came with those wall tethers that keep the shelving units from tipping. Even though there was a screw issue, I recommend them because they are nice and do not look cheap at all.

I was so surprised after opening the package. From the packaging, you’ll know the brand cared about quality and reputation.I highly recommend this bookshelf and brand (Sauder) if you’re shopping around.

Received it fast. but holes are missing to sturdy the metal pieces (H and I) together, the pieces don't line up, the metal pieces to put the shelves on are not even the same size, and a row for a shelf is missing! THis is a disaster!I could've worked it now, but not if the skeleton of the shelves are not alined and the top is not the same height!

The shelving unit, when assembled is of great quality and would be expected to last for many, many years. The wood grain over particle board is also quite nice looking.

Total garbage. Dont bother with this thing. Its not level at all, very rickety, had to put paper under two corners to make it stand straight. Wood shelves were warped and when we tried to screw into them the wood fell apart.

Good simple shelf unit. Durable and looks good
