I think this kit is a good alternative for the AEV rearview camera for factory radio, which has been discontinued. The camera quality is probably better than what the factory radio is able to display. This kit does not have the infrared lights, but the video quality at night is plenty sufficient with the OEM Jeep reverse lights. This camera does not have the parking grid lines, and I prefer it without the lines. I can judge distance and spacing just fine without them. The hardware (wiring, connectors, brackets, etc.) seem high quality. Time will tell how long the camera will last. Programming via the OBD port was easy. It failed the first time, but worked on the second attempt.I made some modifications to how BrandMotion wants you to install the product. Instead of running the wire through the tailgate vent (allowing for more dust/water ingress), I cut a hole in one of the existing tailgate weather grommets and fished the wire through the tailgate from that location along the factory wire harness. There are two weather grommets. The one on the left is used to run the OEM brake light wiring through. I used the one on the right side of the tailgate which is unused. I had to remove most of the wire loom tubing from the provided wire harness, otherwise there was too much wire left on the outside of the Jeep (would not fit well through the tailgate grommet). Wire length overall was more than sufficient. Finally, instead of splicing the power wire into the factory harness, I spliced it into a pre-existing power wire I routed for my dashcam. I didn't have to solder anything. I used heat shrink butt connectors and a T-tap splice connector.Overall, I would definitely buy this again and recommend it. 4/5 stars because I believe BrandMotion could have provided better and more detailed instructions for a cleaner install.
