I just installed 2 sets of theses on 2 different Jaguar 2003 X-types. They installed easily and worked perfectly. At the time I am writing this, there is only one other review and it was very negative. Perhaps they received defective product. It happens.Both Jaguars now have BOXI trunk and hood supports. The original Jaguar parts were over 15 years old and were long overdue for replacing. It only took a few minutes to replace them all (had replace the hood struts on one about a month ago). I was so pleased with the quality and price, I selected BOXI struts for both vehicles trunk supports. These were very easy on the budget compared to others on the market. Perhaps they will not last 15 years like the originals, but maybe these older Jags will not last that long either.Strongly recommend. Good value, even if I had paid more.

As you can see in my photos, Boxi uses cheap Chinese plastic for the ball joints. Both popped out of my Jaguar X-Type at the same time. The Right side got stuck and gouged my trunk frame after two months in the summer heat. Yes, I fully tightened the mounts to the gas tube and the extension arm when installed them. Not worth the $16 they cost. No wonder they are the cheapest on Amazon's marketplace. Back to Rock Auto for auto parts by vendors with quality control.

These were purchased for an 04 Jaguar x-type. Hardest part is getting the old ones off, a small flat head screw driver under the clip at the ends works really well. These just snap in place. 5min job and the trunk pretty much opens itself now.Local auto supply stores didn’t have them in stock but wanted over $50 each. These were much cheaper and came as a set! I needed them quickly so Amazon to the rescue.

These pair of trunk lifts are less than half the price than what I can find from dealers. Yet, their performance is just as good. Highly recommended.

Spot on. Works perfectly with my 2005 Jaguar X-Type. Previous replacements had the wrong end connections and interfered with the trunk mechanism. Also these have very smooth operation. Great product.

Parts didn't fit the car. Had to return.

The pressure was so strong on the two that I ordered, I could not get them to budge. The shock would not move, and continue pushing on it would damage my hood..

Works very well my trunk is so much easier to open now
