Live Forever

one love one heart
Several years ago I bought a bootleg CD of this concert,it was poorly mixed, laden with synths and sounded unlike the wailers I rember seeing during the seventies. On an expedition to the states i visited the site of this extraordinary concert and bought a copy of the just then released Roxy concert from LA. I bought this vinyl set,on it's day of release, it is well packaged with a tour programme and excellent photo's, and beautifully pressed in clear crisp shining 180grm vinyl. The sound is for the most part excellent, it is an unedited though well mixed true version of the concert so contains every song delivered that night. If nothing else this is a vital memory to pocess, the extraordinary Nesta Robert Marley's last ever concert in it's entirety. It begins with greetings and references to selassi before opening with Natural Mystic setting the spiritual tone for the evening. The band works through Marley's then big tunes, there is no one love or Buffalo Soldier which both came later. This set represents work from Exodus and Rastaman Vibration, a welcome revisit to No Woman No Cry, his breakthrough live recording from the lyceum in London, to then current new work, Work, Coming in from the cold and could you be loved. These are the least successful, the band selling the new album, The tour is just beginning and Bob is quite ill, these tunes don't have the history and self awareness of the older material.I miss the nyahbingi of the earlier Wailers but this is tear jerking stuff. Within hours Marley was according to Rita's memory stolen by her in the night and flown to Dr Issels clinic where he survived in a winterwonderland before passing into legend. A must have concert for anyone with a sense of history, ourstory. This was the last ever concert by the first third world superstar. Buy it, listen to it, cry with it. These truly are Redemption songs, an aural history of the Trenchtown experience. Jah love.

Magnificent!
I've been waiting for this album for almost 30 years!I loved "Live" and "Babylon by bus" and I always wondered why there never came more livealbums. But "he who waits for something good never waits too long"!It was with an eerie feeling I listened to the album. Knowing what had happened in New York just a few days earlier it is truly incredible that Bob managed to perform this show at all. The Stanley Theatre show is the ultimate proof of Bob's devotion to both Rastafari and his audience/fans. The presence and urgency in Bob's voice is both uplifting and deeply disturbing.I've heard several bootleg-versions of this concert, but none has even come close when it comes to soundquality. The tracklist includes all the great songs in versions showing Bob and the Wailers at the peak of their live-performance power. This album is the essence of the power, beauty and conviction of one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century! If you love Bob Marley and if you love Reggae this is a no-brainer. BUY IT!

Yesss--Brother Bob's Spirit & Music Live Forever...
Yesss, a must have compact disk for any folks who love Brother Bob Marley's Spirit and Music. His last reggae musical concert is a classic--he was still at his apex. I was blessed to witness three Brother Bob Marley's concert: 1978--The Spectrum in Philadelphia, PA, 1978--Madison Square Garden in New York, NY and 1980--Civic Center in Philadelphia, PA. Some of the best musical concerts I have experienced in 60 years of life. At The Spectrum my nice/sweet/nice reggae girlfriend (Rhoda brought the tickets the day they went on sale) and I were standing up the whole concert in tenth row and I have been listening to Brother Bob Marley's music ever since, and hopefully his music will be played at my funeral--leave this planet singing and dancing in my wooden coffin--(: Smile :). Okay, time go and taking off shoes and socks, sit on front row in lazyboy chair, light my Peace Pipe filled with so Primo Elevating and Medicinal Kayaherbbuds, and play---Bob Marley and Wailer LIVE FOREVER! One Love!

Must own for Marley fans!
This new live release is a must own for Bob Marley fans. Recorded on September 23, 1980, this was Bob Marley's last performance. This show was released many years ago on a Japanese import entitled One Day of Bob Marley. The quality of the Japanese import was quite good. However, this new release of the same concert is much better. The import version didn't include Redemption Song, Work, and Get Up Stand Up. This concert was part of Bob Marley's Uprising Tour, to support the Uprising release. Marley performed two shows at Madison Square Garden prior to this show. While in New York, Marley collapsed while jogging. He was told to cancel the remaining part of his U.S. tour, but ended up doing one final show, the Pittsburgh performance. For being over 30 years old, this live recording sounds excellent. This incredible performance is a must have for your Marley collection.*Super Deluxe Edition Notes*The Super Deluxe Edition includes a 2 CD set of the concert, 3 180-gram audiophile LP's of the concert, and a reproduction of the Uprising tour program.

The Last Concert...
The final concert of Bob Marley’s career, this oft-bootlegged show has never sounded better than on this official 2011 release from the Marley estate. With plenty of hiss and maxed levels, Live Forever is hardly perfect when it comes to sound quality, and the laid-back show doesn’t stand up against Marley’s live masterpiece Babylon by Bus, but fans who want their reggae party a little less “punky” will find this a great, chilled alternative. Seeing as they were on tour in support of the album, plenty of material from Uprising appears, including lesser-known numbers such as “Zion Train” and “Work.” They’re both interesting and very pleasing in these live versions, but the highlights remain the classics, including an R&B-influenced rendition of “No Woman No Cry” and a rock-solid performance of “Natural Mystic.” While “Jamming” comes with a bit more of a bounce than usual, it is “Exodus” that really comes alive, speeding up as it goes while threatening to fly off the tracks. Most everything else gets coated in island soul and the cool confidence the successful Wailers were projecting at the time, so don’t expect a revolution. Still, it’s good to hear the legend both on top of his game (Babylon by Bus) and on top of the world (Live Forever). Marley fans have room for both, and will rightfully declare Live Forever a worthy addition to the extended catalog.

The Heathen", "No Woman No Cry", "Zimbabwe", "Coming from the Cold" particulièrement réussis). Bref, la valeur de ce concert, enfin réédité de façon correcte, n'est pas du tout qu'historique!
