FELL from the 3rd Floor WINDOW ! (real story)
I have had 2 of these fans for a couple years now, and I like the AA battery feature, which drove me to purchase it. the fan is basically a computer SERVER FAN, mounted on a battery case with an arm and a pivot. It is as quiet as any fan can get, and still move air. The blades are not tiny, and slow speed when on a counter next to you, feels like quite a bit of air. It is also fairly compact and easy to store when not in use. I bought 2 of them to keep me and wifey cool at events or other houses at parties. I've now used it through about 50 cycles of battery replacements. Very happy.Recently I have started putting it my office window to bring in some Spring air to my home-office before the sun starts heating up my house. I work out of a 3rd story townhouse bedroom, and I place it outside the window screen (because that is where more cool air can be found). Yesterday it was windy, I had windows open throughout my house, and I didn't consider losing my fan to a gust of wind. It FELL onto my driveway, from a 3rd story window. 25-30 feet. I was horrified.I raced downstairs. The front of the fan-blade cover had popped off. The battery compartment was bulging a little bit. I opened the battery compartment, and one of the batteries would not come out. 1 battery was lodged in the base of the unit. I had to get a butter-knife to wedge the battery loose. I was able to pop the fan cover back on (luckily, not bent at all). All of the batteries went back in, and the battery door was never affected. Rechargeable batteries (eneloop of course) weren't affected. However it tumbled and landed, it had been OPERATING on medium speed the whole way down, and it is now obvious that it landed battery side-down. Before I pressed the power button, I literally said to myself "no way". Well, the fan works just fine. I have now used it for about 20 hours since, and it works fine. The battery compartment has deep abrasions on one corner.I was going to take a picture, but the cuts/marks on the corner are not easy to see. I can definitely feel the cuts on the case. There is a slight bulge right at the external power plug, and I don't know if that works, as I use batteries. I will file it smooth because it would tear my shirts in the right situation. But, this thing is in such great shape, that if I had to grab 1 of my 2 fans now, I have no reason to care which fan that I grab, the dropped one, or the un-scratched one. This thing is a BEAST. I work for the US Gov, and this is not a paid review. If you want something that is durable, don't try to beat the price, and just buy this little sucker.Update 4/29/24 - I've used this a week and 1/2 or so, now since it dove off of my window ledge. Full disclosure, if I tap the side of the base where the power plug is, the unit will de-activate. I would be a little annoyed if I had not dropped the unit, but I'm certainly not dissatisfied.

Nice compact fan for travel 3-spd + timer function runs on batteries or USB - revised review
Nice compact fan. For it's size I think it moves a very respectable amount of air. Very quiet on low speed, hi-speed is of course a little noisy but I sometimes stay in noisy places so this "white noise" option is welcome. The timer is very nice as I can set it to run 1 / 3 / or 6 hours to help save battery life if using it off-grid.My only complaint so far, and it's minor, is that the legend on the front of the fan to select timer and speed functions is printed in a very very small font - roughly 6pt and the ink on my fan is light so hard to read. but it's easy to operate so I'm not mad. The box is roughly 7 1/4 x 6 x 2 1/2 inches. Not bad for packing. there is some empty space inside the box since the base is deeper than the fan body, so some extra stuff could be packed in the box.As long as it's reliable I'm very happy esp. at the sale price of ~$17UPDATE:On the fan's first outing ... to the Amazon Jungle ... I found that on the low-speed setting that the fan speed was not well controlled and varied up and down ... up and down ... which was not nearly as pleasant as a constant level of background "white noise" would have been.2nd update: I was able to reach support after some delay, and they sent a replacement fan, which I received today. It does not have the low-speed stability problem. I am now giving this little fan a 5-star review. I really like it.

Works well and nice it works on batteries
Ok, right now I have a hurricane bearing down on me and the last time I was hit with a hurricane (Irma in 2017) I was without power for six days. I had a fan that kept me going but the fan got lost in a house fire I had in 2018, so I knew I wanted a new fan in case I lost power again. So many of the fans I looked at here were USB chargeable. Maybe fine for an initial charge, but no easy way to charge if power is out for days. I’d prefer to conserve my power bricks for charging phones and tablets. So anyway I finally found this little fan which uses four AA batteries. Just what I wanted. I bought the fan and a big box of AA batteries so hope I’m set.One caveat though: this also has a USB cable to plug in for power. However, if the cable is plugged into the fan, even if the other end is not plugged in, the fan will not work under battery power and won’t turn on. I was all set to return this as defective when I read that in a Q&A above. Unplugged cable from the fan and it immediately worked and turned on nicely.

Good air flow for small fan.
Not too terribly noisy. Good air flow for such a small fan. We used it when we had the electric go off and it was very hot evening. My daughter and I each had one and we were quite pleased with it.

Best travel fan I have found
This fan is compact, lightweight, and powerful. It fits easily in my carry on bag, runs on four AA batteries or a USB outlet. It is hands free meaning it stands on it's own keeping your hands free unlike other travel fans. I have never had to use it on the highest setting while having it on the nightstand in a hotel room. It has plenty of power on the second setting, to keep the air moving and provide white noise. I have purchased two of these fans, used them for several years of travel, and never had a issue with it working properly. I would recommend this to any traveler who needs/wants a reliable fan.

Better quality than expected and timer is usefull
I was surprised and the quality of the fan and it's size. It wasn't the cheapest fan but I think it was worth the cost. I didn't want a fan with built-in rechargeable batteries because I didn't think I would use it for months at a time (only for emergencies). I am using it with my own rechargeable batteries and it works fine and I find I use the timer all the time. It's so nice I've been using it at my desk using the one hour timer function. I've only use batteries in it and they seem to last for hours. I have not used the USB connection and I see there are comments about how to use it that you should probably read. I like it.
