This isn't a heavy-duty chain, but it's great for light use and decorative stuff. Nice shiny black finish, made from rigid hollow tubing with no visible seams on the links. Easy to trim and work with. Rust-proof of course, but I haven't had it long enough to see how it handles long-term sun exposure.In my case I live in a rural area, so we get critters. I suppose that comes under the heading of "crowd control." What I use this for is to block off stairs leading up to the house so we don't get unwanted visitors, with bells or other noisemakers attached to it. Other uses are totally up to your imagination.The cool thing about this one is that it comes with 8 matching black S-hooks for hanging -- I can see that being useful for gardening or the like -- 6 black carabiners for clipping things together, a nice pack of 8" black zip ties, and a bonus Boy Scout / camping-style flat pocket tool with screwdriver, wrench, saw, can opener etc. That could actually be really good if you're out in the boonies and need a quick tool but don't have your Swiss army knife with you.In all, a real good buy for me.

This is a good product and a good combo set. I could buy all of it at the Home Depot store separately, but buying it on Amazon saves me a shopping trip and gas!! I recommend the product and purchasing it on Amazon!

Bang for your buck. Works perfect for multiple Halloween decorations

I needed to string several pairs of chains across my double driveway to keep traffic off for several days. As far as being 'just a plastic chain' to deter vehicles, it did that! However, when I unhooked it on one side to drop it to the ground so I could back out, multiple pieces and strands crumbled as my tires went over. I expected a few links to possibly break, but not the entire length. Since I purchased multiple strands, I tried to incorporate new with the old, but that wasn't happening. I tied a red plastic flag on the carabiners for attention, but the carabiners are lightweight/flimsy so any tugging or weight is too much. I ended up using a long rope (a la boat line) and it did the trick nicely. Since so many links in this chain were broken, I couldn't return them. They lasted about 15 hours. If you have a smaller area and there is no wind, nor weight, these might work! Also, I purchased black which was not as noticeable as I desired (hence the red flags) so if visibility is important, consider the color!
