Lucy’s done it again…another five star read
Nat and Zoe met sitting in the toilets next to each other finding out they share the same birthday, from that day they became best of friends. The story follows the friendship over two decades from proms, to uni and juggling being grownups. Can a friendship survive twenty years, or will secrets break them apartI love Lucy Vine (previous books reviewed further on my grid) and she hasn’t disappointed with her newest book. I love her writing and felt so involved in the story (I’m a similar age) to Nat and Zoe. The story picks up on the girls birthdays every year over two decades and shows how the girls grow from teenagers into adults and the story is from both girls prescriptive. It’s funny and also has some deeper levels, it even includes lockdown as part of their 2020 chapter.Another five star read (please don’t make me wait so long for another book)!

Wonderful!
Meet Zoe and Nat, best friends through the years and going through every life situation imaginableThe book is told on a yearly basis, always on or leading up to their birthdays and looks back to what has happened in that time ( well that’s kinda how it works )And it’s funny, sooooooo funny, and sad, and warm and endearing and rude and joyful and tearful and girly and extra and dramatic and silly and playful and serious and all done with a capital L for LifeI think I blushed, giggled, had a tear and genuinely laughed a lot through this bookThe characters are more than wonderful, Nanny Surrey is awesomely evil and together they make a bunch you want to go and meet and be friends with, I think friends sums it up, it felt like they had shared and let you into their friendship and livesIt’s rawly real, gooily fav pudding like and a tonic, a real tonic to read10/105 Stars

Fab from start to finish
Once again Lucy Vine has come up with a novel that had me ignoring life around me in order to finish it. I laughed (a LOT), I cried, and I enjoyed nostalgic flashbacks to my time at uni in the early noughties. The female friendship at the heart of this book is written with such authenticity that you forget it's a work of fiction. Loved every page and can't wait for Vine's next offering!

Boring
The book is well-written and there are some funny parts. But the plot is slow and boring. I gave up after 100 pages because all they talk about is sex and boys and they don’t really care about anything else or have any goals. I just really didn’t care about the characters. Maybe I just didn’t find them relatable?

Devoured it in a day
Another absolute triumph from one of my favourite writers. Brilliantly funny, sharp and real. Couldn’t put it down until I’d read the whole thing in one sitting. Highly recommend.
