My cats love it.
My husband put this together in just a couple of minues. No problem. My cats like to look out the window at strays and the birds. This is perfect. It is very solid and has a nice solid board for the cats to lay on. My cats are jumpers and they have to have solid surfaces when jumping. The last napper I bought was plastic and had a plastic perch with gaps in it. they went right thru the gaps soon after I got it and it was more expensive then this one. Plus the cloth was not big enough and I had to put it back on everyday. This one is made so much better and is very solid. It is hard because the base is like a board but they love it. All three get on it at once and two of them are big cats. The cloth covers it really well and doesn't move around or come off. I haven't had to adjust it since he hung it up. I do have a cloth one in one of the bedrooms that they lay in. It's like a hammock and I have had it a long time. It is starting to rip a little but they don't make them like that now. I was lucky to find this one because it is made really well and should last a long time. I recommend this.

The “legs” are a little weak
My cat loves this. The Velcro holds very well. The only drawback is the legs are a bit on the springy side. I keep expecting it to fail. A couple of screws at the ends would go a long way to stabilizing it.

100% would buy again
I have 2 elderly cats (the one pictured is 19). I realized they were only using the cat tree we had by the window occasionally as a bed or an observation post to attempt to harass the birds outside. The cat tree we had, even woth a cat bed on it, was not very comfortable for them. They would often choose the couch with less entertainment for the comfort. I was surprised how thick and supportive the cushion included with this is, especially for the price. The best part is I can still open the window (unlike the suction cup versions). I opened up space in my home from an underutilized cat tree and gave my old girl a more comfortable replacement.

Works good (with screws)
Easy to assemble. Was wobbly with just the velcro so I used the screws to drill into my window ledge. Solid and sturdy now. My cats are on the bigger side so think only one cat at a time will fit. Wanted to see how the quality was before ordering more..but plan on buying more now for sure. Would recommend.

Works great with easy hack.
There’s another reviewer who correctly describes the shelf as trying to defy all laws of physics. Because it’s highly rated, I assume that most people have been ok with drilling into their window sill to prevent the shelf from falling off. I refuse to destroy my beautiful millwork! So, I came up with a different solution that works great for my 15 lb cat. There are rubbery pads on the metal brackets, where they’re meant to rest against the wall. Onto those spots I placed a pro strength velcro. To avoid having to measure where on the wall to put the other half, I just left both halves stuck together. When I was ready to install the shelf, I removed the tape to expose the stickiness and pushed each velcro’d spot on the bracket against the wall for 15 sec. I waited 24 hours before letting my cat use it. Works great! And saved a lot of money—similar looking shelves are 2-3 times the price.

Great perch
Got this for my grand cat. He is a big boy at 17lbs and he loves it. It took my 14 years old son about 5 mins to put it up and he didn’t even look at the instructions

Requires hard fastening to your window sill with included screws or Velcro tape
If you don’t want to be drilling and screwing holes in your window sill like I didn’t, don’t worry, this comes with a large piece of Velcro which glues the shelf to my window sill instead. The adhesive is so aggressive that if you ever try to remove it, will probably end up doing as much damage as the screws or perhaps even more. Once I rethought the permanence of the install, I pried the Velcro off my sill and ended up repainting. Next time, used four strips of 3M Command strips instead of Velcro. I used the 5Lb strips and as you can see, this easily supports my 16Lb cat. I figure that if I ever need to remove this shelf, the Command Strips will offer easy removal without the previous damage. The metal braces can be adjusted in and out to level and support the shelf and where they touch your wall, they have foam padding. The fabric on the foam pad is a cat hair magnet and hard to clean. I had to use a sticky tape lint roller.

Very satisfied
I read all the negative reviews on this and decided that of all the cat window sill perches available this one seemed to match best with what I was looking for, so I took a chance anyway. I was not disappointed. The size is perfect for my very large cat. We did not experience any of the negative things that happened to other buyers, but based on their comments we did install both the double sided tape and the screws as a precaution. If you receive materials that are incorrect or missing, this can happen with anything, and I have always had quick responses from Amazon if something wasn’t right. Therefore I was willing to take the risk. I’m glad I did. I’ll probably be buying another one!
