The intrigue and suspense in this book was great

As usual Victoria Holt books...interesting

Loved the twists of scandal in this novel. Very entertaining and characters are so relatable. Holt definitely does not disappoint!

Victoria Holt is an excellent storyteller. It is well researched and the mystery is cleverly unfolded. The heroine is resourceful and has a sense of humour. Her love interest is by no means a paragon but again not without humour in his pursuit of her. I particularly like the other female characters as well - her lovely, warm hearted aunt and the strict but fair principal of the girl's school she works for. Holt is my not so guilty pleasure. At her best, she can give that other superb storyteller, Mary Stewart, a run for her money.
