Awesome hood
to my surprise this helmet is amazing. since i got it i have yet to reach out for my lincoln or miller hoods. very impressed the only thing I would upgrade is the head gear is not the best but will do.

Best helmet for the money I have use
Good field of view and the darkness adjusts to the job at hand. The head bands could have been a little better but it was ok for the price of the helmet.

The "True Color" is amazing. Incredible value for a helmet in this price range.
I've used quite a few welding lenses and this one is orders of magnitude better than 95% of the ones I've used. The helmet itself is ok quality. The fit is decent, it's light, comfort is alright. The adjustable sizing band comes a bit misshapen from shipping and isn't the most luxurious but it's easy to adjust with one gloved hand and gets the job done. In the end this is a cheap helmet so you're getting what you paid for from the helmet itself. But the lens. The lens is worth every cent on its own. This is the first cheap-ish lens I've used that comes even close to being usable for grinding etc. because you can actually see through it when it's not dark. And not only can you see through it but the colors really are much easier to see. It's a night and day difference from the old brown or green lenses where you could make out what you were looking at but had to lift the hood to get a really good look at what was going on.If you're looking for a starter helmet, this one will get the job done just fine and you'll be starting out in the lap of luxury, so to speak, compared with other auto-darkening lenses in this price range. If you haven't tried a "True Color" lens before, pick this up and give it a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised I promise.

Surprisingly good (SMAW experience)
I would classify myself as a “serious hobby welder”. I have 4 welding helmets and this one is my favorite. It’s comfortable and works flawlessly. It’s so easy to see through the un-darkened lens I sometimes forget it’s down and carry on working. It never darkens when it shouldn’t (like when I’m facing the sun). The “true color” aspect takes some getting used to but is quite nice and now I’m spoiled. I’m so used to everything being green and only seeing the arc and puddle that at first it feels like it’s not dark enough, but being able to see the rest of the work is huge. No more drawing lines! I probably keep it brighter than I should (maybe 9-10 for SMAW) but I can clearly see where I’m going which saves me a ton of prep time, and even saves clamping in some cases because I can just hold the piece where I want it.My only (small) complaint is that the ability to see beyond the puddle only seems to work in daylight. Once the sun starts setting it feels like using a normal hood, just not green. The arc is just too bright compared with the rest of the work (I might be able to see better if I made it darker - I should try that).I’ve burned probably 200-300 rods with this hood on and I couldn’t be happier. All stick welding - everything from 1/16” to 5/32”.. 6010, 6011, 7014, and 7018. No mig or tig though, and I have not used it for grinding or oxy-acetylene cutting or welding so I can’t comment on how well it works for those applications.Overall, I’d highly recommend this for anyone from “beginner” to “serious hobby welder”, or maybe “backup hood for pros”. I can’t honestly recommend it for professionals because I’m not a professional and I simply don’t know how well it would hold up under extreme use. While it’s certainly not cheap feeling, it’s still plastic and maybe not heavy-duty enough. I’ve dropped it a few times and it’s gotten a little wet, but I’m also not wedging myself under a 24” pipe in a ditch full of water and welding overhead all day.

This is a great hood
I know it’s new and I was long overdue for a new one but the controls are so convenient and I love everything about it

Decent helmet, but buyer beware
Let's start with the positive: This is a good helmet for a low price. True color, auto dimming, runs on a button battery and a solar cell. Comfortable, given the price. It's a good starter/DIY helmet, and it gets the job done. Now the bad: YesWelder doesn't offer replacement inside lens covers for this helmet. They provide ONE spare with the helmet, but they don't sell them. I contacted support and they said "We don't sell them" and then ignored me when I wrote back pointing out that the helmet came with a spare, so clearly they're *available*. Just, apparently, not to customers. If you've welded, you know how easily lens covers can get dirty and scratched. Not having the ability to get lens covers is a big problem if you plan to keep the helmet. If you're just buying it to use for a small project, and don't mind throwing it away after a while, it's fine. Also, don't think you can just cut any lens cover down to size - I tried that. The lens covers I found at my local welding supply are 1.0 millimeter thick - this helmet uses 0.8 millimeter covers.

No for old guys
Nice helmet , light and comfortable. BUT you do not have anything to hold a cheater lens in the helmet. That's right if you need to put a optical lens to help you see while welding there us no provision for one. Nothing to hold it in with

Works well. Quality is good for the price. The company replys to ur question very fast. Overall, if I need anything that they sell, I would definitely buy it from them.

Not True Colour, just ordinary screen
I especially ordered this for the True Colour and big big screen, but it was not true colour.Otherwise it was comfortableThe shade numbers on the dial adjuster are difficult to read, and there's no obvious way to switch between the Hi/Lo shading.
