Game Development With Three.js

easy to read book helped me get up to speed ...
This short, easy to read book helped me get up to speed with Three JS. There is not a great deal of detail here. In general, there was just enough code to get me up and running on core concepts. It helped me get started working with geometries (boxes, spheres, imported meshes), lighting, moving and rotating objects, materials and textures, particle systems (PointClouds), cameras, etc. You won't be an expert after reading this book, but you will know the basics. There are numerous included references that you can use to explore subjects in more depth. In particular, the last chapter on design doesn't really offer much in the way in specific information, but it is full of ideas, and then pointers to places where you can learn more about particular subjects. That sounds like a rip-off, but if you are new to the subject, it provides a nice overview of various "where do I go from here?" subjects. I suppose the bottom line is that I was happy with the price and content of this product as a Kindle book. If I had paid 35 dollars for it, I would have felt a bit ripped off, but for ten dollars I felt pretty good about the purchase. As someone else mentioned, you might want to combine this book with other books or sources of information on three js.

Too little content
For a 30$ book I hope it has more content. It gives a pretty basic coverage of three.js and game development.

Good book for what I needed it for.
elearning developer that was interested in taking online learning to the next level with 3d. I have threejs under my belt, but didn't know how to integrate game technology.

Fun stuff.
The author's book was extremely helpful! I'm now sold on using javascript with three.js for game development. I think this is going to be essential knowledge, but as of now it's cutting edge. Fun stuff.

Great summary of the technology
Great summary of the technology! Works well as a follow-on book to the book named"Learning Three.js: The JavaScript 3D Library for WebGL" by Jos Dirksen

Great practical use of three.js.
I am quite new to three.js, and my intrerest is in using three.js for business graphics more than game-graphics. But this book was excellent in explaining both the basics and more advansed use of three.js. The examples was very helpfull to me. The chapter on "exploring and interacting" with the model/scene was good for making my 3d scene interactive. I can recommend this book to any one with javascript and graphics interrest!

Great starter book for Three.js Developers
I have been working with Three.js for about 3 months now. I would look online for tutorials or just go through github and see examples and expand on them. This book eliminates the need for that. I found it easy to read and the examples are very useful. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to get a good kick start on three.js

Excellent Book On 3D Game Programming
This is an excellent book on 3D game programming for web browsers. It is a quick read (97 pages) and has many examples to help get you started. You also can download example code from an associated website so you can learn from the example code and get a head start. The book is well written and is an easy read. Somehow it also manages to cover an amazing range of complex topics including various methods of world generation, particle systems, 3D sound, optimization, networking/multiplayer, and even anticheating. Highly recommended!
