Looks Nice. Didn't last.
Purchased Frye Men's Harness 12R Boot, Black, 10.5 Wide January 4, 2021 ($404.46) and they arrived in a timely manner. The boots fit well. I generally wear a 10.5 (4e) in running shoes. These are comfortable on my Harley and grip the road well when at a stop and are comfortable enough for short walks around town.I generally reserve these boots exclusively for riding and put about 5,000 miles on the bike during this time. The heal on the right foot fell off when removing these boots September 23, 2022. Fortunately I was in my car and keep a pair of walking shoes in the back. I have a pair of Ariat Men's Workhog Rt Pull-On Boot, Rugged Bark,10.5 2E US that were purchased in 2014 ($191.50) that I only wear on jobsites now because they are much less comfortable but haven't fallen apart.

You will have to pull them off my cold - dead feet to get them!
I think I may just have to be buried in these boots! I REALLY love them! HOWEVER - sizing may be an issue? I found a deal on these by scrolling all the way down the size list and there it said size Chestnut? I clicked on it an it said size 7 D (M) so I ordered them. I did not notice that once I put them in my cart - that 7M changed to a 7W. In fact, I did not notice it until the boots arrived - sure enough, the boots and the box said 7W. I was devastated. I have a Really narrow foot. I have wanted a pair of Frye boots for as long as I an remember. I could never afford them. These were substantially less than all the others. Normally, I would not even have bothered trying them on - but I really wanted these boots! I slipped my foot in and there is NO WAY that these are actually Wide width. Now, the heel is wide, but every shoe I ever put on is wide on my heel. (my heel is probably an A or AA width) BUT - I would not want them to be any tighter in the toe box. Normally, a D width is pretty loose for me - but not with these boots.SO - I don't know if the sizing is off on all Frye boots, as this is my first pair - but I feel certain that on this pair - they are marked Wide and are not Thank Goodness! So, I knocked off one star because of the sizing. That being said - I will NOT be returning these boots! I have only had them for a week, so I cannot say how well they hold up. I will update this next year to let everyone know. The leather looks and feels fantastic. This is also my first experience with the Chestnut color - I am Very Happy with the look, color and feel of my new boots. I have lived with my abnormally narrow heel all of my life - I expected them to be loose in the heel. Although marked 7W they are more narrow than most other boots I have ever owned. Again, I don't know if this is common for Frye boots, or this is just an odd pair, but I am SO GLAD I spent the $$!.UPDATE - I liked these boots so well that I bought a pair of Frye 8R's . These 8Rs were ordered as a 7D and arrived as a 7D. THESE 12r's are in fact wider than the 8r's - so I guess they are in fact wide. So - I would warn that these do run very narrow! As I mentioned, I have a very narrow foot. Although the 7W is a bit wide, they fit as well as most 7D boots I have purchased. The 8R's that I received in the actual size I bought fit like a glove! So, if you have a narrow foot, I am guessing you will love these boots! If you have an average width foot - I would suggest ordering a wide width. If you have a really wide foot - Frye may not be the best option for you. I still LOVE these boots.

Received size wide not D or M
Loved these boots the leather looks very oily and plush the long it’s a downfall is you wear tight or not wide enough jeans.I wanted to keep them but they felt 1/2 size bigger and also received wide version by mistake

Great boots, but not perfect
I just purchased my second pair in this same style and color. I still have the first pair and they are three years old now. They have held up very well with no rips, tears, busted seams, etc. And they still look great. The only reason for getting a new pair is that the original pair was too small from the beginning. I thought they would stretch and they did not. I wore them anyway as long as I could stand, but finally broke down and picked up a new pair in the correct size.First the bad about this boot: The foam rubber insole (what Frye calls "memory foam") is not very comfortable. It also does not wick moisture so any foot sweat just sits on top of the insole. This may contribute to the fact that said insole does not last very long. In my first pair, I think it only took a couple of months or less to start to disintegrate. Since it was crumbling away, I just tore it all out and put in some gel insoles which drastically improved both the comfort and moisture situation. With this latest pair, I tore out the insole and put in the gel ones right off the bat. The only other negative is that there is no stacked leather heel, just plastic. I think leather would look much better, and the price of the boot warrants it.Now the good: Obviously for me the good outweighs the bad or I would not have ordered these boots a second time. The leather is gorgeous right out of the box, and only gets better looking as it's worn in. The look and feel of the leather is really nice. (I use mink oil which adds suppleness, and also darkens the leather, which I like.) I get compliments on these boots all the time. And with the gel insoles they are comfortable enough to wear all day, and I do a good bit of walking during the course of a day. The stitching and leather hold up really well. After wearing them for a few days consecutively though, my feet and ankles get a little sore, so I switch shoes for a couple of days.

Could not be more satisfied.
Overall an excellent pair of boots and service from both Amazon and the seller. These boots are manufactured in the USA, therefore a chart for converting the foot size is given when specifying the order. I was notified of an approximate delivery date and given tracking details so I could follow the delivery from the USA to my doorstep, my pair arrived a full 3 days ahead of schedule.I naturally have wide feet which usually makes ordering shoes online without trying them before hand risky, however these boots for my given foot length were wide enough. In the event that they were too thin, I was offered to return the boots for free which put my mind at easy during the waiting period for the delivery. The leather has a rugged texture that feels very durable and the soles and heel feel rock solid. I own a pair of Harley Davidson harness boots which have their logo on every rivet and a big metal plaque on the side facing outwards to show everybody that they are HD boots which always bothered me, FRYE's 12r boot only has a single small brand in the leather by the ankle facing inwards which I much prefer. The rivets and rings appear to be brass but are painted with something to give them a weathered appearance. The ring also appears to be forged shut, there is not visible seam that I can see.

Frye Boots - the real deal !
I first came across Frye boots in while on a skiing holiday to Colorado. I drooled over them in the shop - the quality and styling was perfect like nothing I'd seen before ( or since ) Having spent a fortune on the ski trip I reluctantly decided against spending another $200.00 on some new boots. I was delighted to see stumble across the same boots on Amazon at about half the price, it was a no brainer so put the order in straight away. They came very quickly as does everything you order from Amazon and I wasn't disappointed. I'm a boot man, always have been and they don't come better than this. With a pair of Levis and a checked shirt we can all look like John Wayne yee haa !
