Todd Lammle is a great author. This stuff can be pretty dry
Todd Lammle is a great author. This stuff can be pretty dry, but he adds some good humor. I used his ICND1 book along with some other resources, and I passed the exam on my first try. I haven't taken this exam yet, but I've been using this book and the same resources I used for ICND1. So, I expect good results!

Excelente/ Excellent
Perfect, that book help me pass the exam in my second attempt. Don’t just relay in this book you will need to do a lot of lab using packet tracert, GNS3 or live equipments. Also use video courses like Christ Bryan. My recommendation is to give a lot of attention to STP and EIGRP because they ask a lot in the exam.

Great Resource for ICND2
I passed ICND2 using this book along with the Odom book, the Pearson Network Simulator, and the Boson ICND2 practice exam. This book adds a great second perspective to what you'll learn from Odom's much more methodical, dense volume. My suggestion would be to read the Odom book cover to cover, followed by this one. It is absolutely imperative to get hands on experience with configuring routers and switches and the Pearson Network Simulator, which you get a discount on from Odom's book, is excellent for that purpose. Once you're comfortable with configuration and troubleshooting using 'show' commands, begin practicing information recall via practice exams. The Boson practice exam was excellent for getting those off-the-wall, unexpected sort of questions such as usually appear on certification exams. I hold 4 other industry certs and I will tell you the clear, direct sort of questions usually found in exam prep books appear sparingly on the real exam, interspersed between the more 'were you really paying attention?' sort of questions. The Boson practice tests made me aware of my weaknesses (QoS, IPv6, routing protocol details), and I think made all the difference in achieving a passing score as I didn't ace the exam, but also didn't barely scrape by, just solidly passed. This book is much more concise than Odom's, which is only a good thing if you've already read the latter. The tone is almost like chatting with an experienced pro buddy on the weekend, gaining little insider tips. The exam topics cover topics with many layers and so many little details that it is critical to gain as many different perspectives as possible as each author/instructor will pinpoint different aspects of the topics.Beware of the chapters on SDN and QoS as they seem to have been a bit rushed. Definitely refer to the Odom book for info about those topics.

Todd Lammle is awesome!
I really like Todd Lammle's books.Well written, usually concise and seems to cover the exam pretty well. Two things I'd advise to the author:- Review the new CCNA curriculum to be sure your books include everything for the exam- Check your end of chapter questions. There are some errors in the books.Otherwise, nice books. Thanks

Works
I have done Net Academy training before which my company paid for. After my Net Academy expired this helped me review for the ICND2 exam with limited time, and pass it.

Get This Book
A notch below the ICND1 edition, but still a must have to pass. Todd explains things in a way you can understand.

Book:Great Website:Terrible Security Risk (FIXED!)
UPDATE: I contacted customer service about plain-text password issue and was given the standard customer service answer, "We'll put a note in the file." I wondered how many "notes" they'd filed over the last four years and assumed they'd essentially just blown me off and would never bother with the password issue.Fast forward a week and I get an email asking me to review my customer service experience. I decide to test the site on the off chance they actually fixed anything before I leave my review. I create a new account, submit the form, and...I wait...and I wait...and no confirmation email containing my plain-text password. No confirmation email at all, actually. I decide to go a step further and try the "forgot my password" link and, instead of an email with my password, I actually get a password reset email. They actually patched the big, stupid security hole! It makes me wonder if anyone has actually bothered contacting them about it before now.-----Original Review-----The book has been awesome and easy to follow. there are some obvious mistakes, but if you've kept up with the material and learned the concepts, they're easy enough to spot. It's stuff that definitely should have been caught during editing, but the rest of the book is good enough that I'd give it four stars despite the lazy editing. It's still a great resource for someone preparing for ICND2.If you take advantage of the online resources and register with Wiley.com, USE A UNIQUE PASSWORD!!! Everyone should be doing this anyway, but most people don't. Even if you're the kind of person who uses a common password for sites you don't care about, save yourself the headache and create a unique password for this one because when you finish registering, they will immediately send you an email with a plain-text copy of your new password. This has been a huge security no-no for years and they've been getting called out on it for over four years (search for PlainTextOffender Wiley), but have yet to do anything about it. Zero stars for the website. A company that people are counting on to teach them IT concepts keeping such an obvious security risk in place for so long is an absolute joke.
