The protective packaging was delivered these delicate devices to me in perfect condition. They're a little tricky to use, but watch some YouTube videos on ot, and you'll find they're worth the effort. With bottom heat and LED lighting my tomato, tomatillo, kale, marjoram and oregano seedlings grew strong deep roots that were not root bound. The plants established quickly when planted out and were not as demanding of regular watering as seedlings grown in standard cell packs.

Like other reviewers have mentioned, the plastic the books are made out of is quite thin. However, they were very easy to fold and clip together and I had no issues with breaking/smashing etc. So as long as you have more dexterity than a gorilla, I think you'll be fine. There really aren't any other deep root seedling options that I could find on amazon... I was afraid of receiving this broken, but I took a leap of faith and everything arrived in one piece, no breaks or smashing. The seller must have read the reviews, my came in a well packed box, no issues. Looking forward to gently using these for many years to come :)

Bought these to try out for both runner beans and sweet peas. They both were great and the plants were well rooted when needing to plant out. They are fairly fragile when out of frame, but are fairly strong when squeezed in and supporting each other. How many uses I'll get...we'll see but so far am very pleased with them. The clear top is very useful when the seeds have just been sown as this gives a micro climate to help them until they have germinated.So, all good...after their first use.

Worked fine for my sweet peas and the roots were well developed. However, I’m only giving it 4 stars because the plastic is so thin and there were some cracks right out of the box. I expect I’ll get several seasons out of it if I’m careful. The biggest issue is that there’s no way to fit all 8 in the frame. I’d have to crush them all to get the last one in. My unit is army green vs the black in the picture so maybe the incorrect frame was boxed. No idea but it left me very confused. Either poor design or poor packing.
