ESEE Knives Candiru Fixed Blade Knife w/Molded Polyer Sheath & Clip Plate (Desert Tan)

The Candiru is a nice little EDC knife that is compact enough to disappear when worn as a neck knife. After a while, you will forget that the Candiru is there. The Candiru can handle many minor cutting tasks with ease and is very sharp right out of the box. The 1095 steel is strong enough to stand up to bigger tasks in an emergency situation (if you don't have access to a bigger blade). Just have realistic expectations of what to expect with a small blade. The only downside is the 1095 steel can rust. It is important to remember to keep the Candiru wiped down with a Tuf-Cloth, mineral oil, or Frog Lube to avoid rust. The ESEE warranty is "no questions asked", so this is a knife that will last a lifetime. Finally, due to the small size, I would recommend picking up some scales for the knife to improve the grip and eliminate hot spots on the handle.

The knifeZilla came with a vengeance as it rose up out of its box, breathing fire and wiping its tail!! It descended upon the city of wood to cut, baton, and chop! In its wake it left the wood city carved and chipped with fine edge strokes, and KnifeZilla Vanished back into the box from which it came. THE ENDIts a pretty epic knife, it came really sharp and is made of decent 1095 HC steel. The Powder coating on it is super durable and has a long resistance to carving and cutting. I made the mistake of cutting a mango with it and it got a patina on the blade edge.... No biggy but Just don't cut food with it if it bothers you. feels good in the hand but feels AMAZING with the G10 handles put on it!! No joke, I have used my knife in many different environments and climates and still feel like it out preforms most of my folders. the sheath is not as stupid as some people make it out to be, it is good quality and works for my purposes!side note:I really don't understand why guys think that every knife should come with a mega awesome sheath that is Molly Compatible and can strap it to there leg and eject at mach 88 so they can land in a volcano to fight Robot Ninjas!!!!!!!My opinion.. put it in your pocket with some 550 cord on it... Don't duck tape it to a racecar end expect it to be there after 500 laps! jeezBack to the review: the sheath has Velcro that works! periodIts a GREAT knife, small, light, and reliable in a pinch.Buy one or the Candiru will swim up and bite you on the ding dong!!!Fact: there is only one reported incident of a candiru catfish swimming in to a guys thingy. the Catfish is a blood sucker and actually attaches its self to the sides of other fish dead or alive. It does find its prey by syncing the urea (commonly found in urine), But does not go around flying in to human parts as so commonly believed. I know this Because my friend is a Dr. in Freshwater Ecology i.e he knows true things and has swam with the fishes of the amazon!!!

Esee candiru knife is small and it has a large bite to it . Yes the price point is steep but it is full tang and it is made out of 1095 steel . In my opion I never use a lock blade knife and I refuse to spend a hundred dollars for one . forsomething that will brake down the road . I am tough on knives and this Edc knife fits that bill never and the esee warranty is the best in the bussiness. you can brake iand you can try to brake it and if you wind up braking in 20 years from know no questions ask esee will fix it or replace it for you any time. These knives are being tested in Peru and every where else in the world . No Chinese crap here all 100% American made . Buy it today !!!

Those Candiru knives are ADDICTIVE! I have bought two and am buying the third one. They are simple, effective and handle extremely well, even being so small. Those are perfect, utility, kneck knives. The handles can be para-corded or fitted with tasty micarta scales (see pic of mine with orange micarta scales) -- the choice is yours. The price is a little bit high for the pudding, but the proof is very good. Be careful not to turn yourself into another Candiru addict!

I'd shared my wishlist with my sister and hadn't realized this knife was still on there (I'd ordered one for her husband). I'm fond of every ESEE product I've held but I hadn't been shopping for a knife like this for myself (Have Kabar Eskabar that I generally use in this application). Ended up recieving a knife I hadn't been searching for, but grew to enjoy. This knife seems to be of the same high quality as all of the other ESEE products I've held, and it's a super convenient EDC size as well. Honestly, it's traveled everywhere with me since it's purchase and it's served me well in every task I've put it to. Oh, the sheath is pretty chintsy, especially for an ESEE product, but it is what it is and suffices for the application.

Another great knife by Esee added the handles and it is even better now. Very sharp right out of the box.

This knife is tiny and I love it.
